I’m a fan of the Hittites. So cool the way their civilization practically vanished, only to re-emerge as scholars learned to read Hittite documents. So when I see a video purporting to offer new information about the Hittites, I watch it.
The Hittite history video I watched last night was… well, this much ignorance is going to be hard to describe!
*Talking about Hittite sites, they show you stock photos of famous sites that have nothing to do with the Hittites.
*Names of historical characters consistently mispronounced.
*It’s a robot narrator, i.e. “artificial idiocy.” When it sees a name like, say, Henry I, it will pronounce it as “Henry Eye.” Richard III would be “Richard Eye-yi-yi.”
Talking about the Hittites’ military prowess, they showed video of World War I infantry and modern tanks.
But it’s only a robot, and no robot is capable of recognizing B.S. when it comes gushing out of the speakers.
Can you even imagine the bumper crop of ignorance that’s being raised today? But something tells me that mass ignorance is highly prized by world government wannabes.
