When Our Lord Jesus Christ was nailed to the cross, and died, and thrust into a tomb, Satan must have thought, “I’ve thrown everything I have at Them… and I have won!”
But we now know that the cross and the tomb were not the end of it. They were only the beginning.
Hymn: The Old Rugged Cross, sung by Alan Jackson.
I love this song, and I love the way Alan Jackson sings it.
It was hard for me to sing this in Sunday school–made me want to cry.
I went to our Good Friday church service today at noon. It entails reading the whole crucifixion account in the Gospel of John, with singing verses from an appropriate hymn as we did. A very moving service!
