‘Not-So-Fond Memory: The Flatline Church’ (2017)

Seminarians say the darnedest things. Here’s one who wanted to sound like Henry Kissinger.

Not-so-Fond Memory: The Flatline Church

These are supposedly “theologians.” They don’t believe the Bible is the Word of God. Maybe a lot of them don’t believe in God. Seems a funny line of work for an unbeliever. But it sure seems like there’s a lot of this going on in our seminaries.

What’ll they do if we don’t need them anymore?

  1. This malarky has no place in the church. In face, these are not “churches” at all. They need to be abandoned and run out of town.

  2. This was actually predicted. Denying the authenticity of scripture essential denies scripture itself, and overlooks the reality of what is promised, which is to deliver us from our fallen state.

2 Peter 3:3 knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. 4 They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” 5 For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, 6 and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. 7 But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

Of course the Flood isn’t the only evidence of the Bible’s truthfulness, but it’s an important one. With people teach that the Bible is not God’s word, they are essentially reducing scripture to being on par with any other book; at that point, it’s just opinions.

  3. A better word would be cemeteries – where young, excited faith goes to die. Too many feel “called” who are just looking for personal power over others by using Jesus Name- and there are those who want to share in Jesus’ glory instead of giving all glory to Him.
