Before COVID, there was The Curse of the Plastic Straws. Killing the planet, dontcha know. Honest! A 9-year-old kid said so! And the next thing you know (this was four years ago), California was talking prison terms for unauthorized distribution and use of… plastic straws!
Well, they had to back off when the whole world found out it was all based on some little kid’s school science project, including a phone call or two to a straw manufacturer. But hey, that was six years ago. Maybe now they’ll find a way to toss you into prison for possession of straws.
