I sang this hymn lustily in Sunday School when I didn’t even know what sheaves were. England as we know it is dead and gone already. All that pomp and circumstance? Poof, on its way out. King Charles has changed his title from “Keeper of the Faith” to “Keeper of Faith.” – that says it all.
Maybe Starmer’s fall will set some good things in motion.
