‘Bringing in the Sheaves’

[Hang onto your hats, everybody! The British government has fallen; the Supreme Court hss ordered Prime Minister Keir to step down.]

Here are some sheaves that needed bringing in! And we can celebrate it with a well-known hymn–Bringing in the Sheaves, brought to you by the Islington Baptist Church.(I got so excited by the British nooze, I forgot I was posting a hymn.)

Is it too late, after all, to save Britain? We don’t know. But we do know it’s in God’s hands.

‘Bringing in the Sheaves’

This was one of my favorite hymns in Sunday school–Bringing in the Sheaves. Actually, I didn’t know what “sheaves” were. Did you have to let them out at night?

Sung here by the Islington Baptist Church.

‘Living for Jesus’

It’s been ages and ages since I’ve heard this hymn, Living for Jesus. But this morning I had a craving for it–and imagine how surprised I was, that I remembered the words. Definitely a real Sunday school favorite!

‘Bringing in the Sheaves’

I loved this hymn in Sunday school–Bringing in the Sheaves–even if I wasn’t quite sure what “sheaves” were. Sung by choir and congregation at Islington Baptist Church. (Yes, I know by now what sheaves are.)

Begone, Evil Vision

All right, Mr. Nightmare, just back off, get lost–the Word of God is here!

Bringing in the Sheaves was a Sunday school favorite, even if a lot of us weren’t sure what “sheaves” were. All I know about this lively version is that it was posted by the Islington Baptist Church. And it suits me this morning, as I hope it suits you.

By Request, ‘I Have Decided to Follow Jesus’

This hymn really did it for me this morning: I am deeply moved.

Requested by SlimJim (and thanks for this one!), I Have Decided to Follow Jesus, sung by Kathryn Scott for the Islington Baptist Church. I’ve never heard this before. It’s gorgeous.

By Request, ‘O Boundless Salvation’

Requested by SlimJim, O Boundless Salvation, sung by the Centenary Choir at the Islington Baptist Church.

We’re always happy to post hymns requested by the readers, so if you have a favorite hymn you’d like to share, just let us know.
