Sorry about the lack of posts today

Today I wasn’t able to post as much as usual, because there were things that I had to attend to.

One of them was calling that laboratory company and breaking the news to them that I was not responsible for that outrageous bill.  I had to send them a copy of Lee’s death certificate (and that went to yet another address, this one in Texas).  These companies are huge and have offices all over the country.  I think that contributes to all the billing errors.

Other than that, it was a good and productive day.

Did not have the fast heartbeat nor palpitations today, either

Thank you Lord.

See you tomorrow.

God bless everybody.

Today

Not much to report today, other than around 3:30 I experienced a period of rapid heartbeat, and what felt like anxiety.  I’m pretty sure the anxiety was caused by the rapid heartbeat.  My heart rate is usually very low 70-76, and it went up to 110.  That is enough to scare you and of course if you get scared your heartbeat gets faster.  What fun.

Not a very pleasant feeling.

I am just going to take it easy and relax for the rest of today.

Have a good night everyone.

See you tomorrow.

God bless everybody.

An OK Day–Sorta

Not too bad today–although I was really ticked off about that lab bill this morning.

I will call that place tomorrow to let them know Medicare says I am not responsible for the bill.

Aside from that, it was pretty quiet.  Talked to my daughter, and to my sister in law, and my friend in Florida.

Everyone is OK and that’s always good news.

Does it seem to anybody that the noozies are really pushing for the Hanta virus to turn into something big?  It’s hard not to be cynical in this post Covid era.

I want to wish all the moms out there a happy Mothers Day.

Celebrate!

See you tomorrow.

God bless everybody.

A Better Day Than I Thought It Would Be

Today is Lee’s birthday.

I thought this might be a really hard day for me, but it turned out not to be not as bad as I feared.  I went through a lot of small boxes of things–lots of memories there–and the hardest part was deciding what to let go of and what to keep.   I know that will be revised and updated as time passes.  Tokens we won at the Seaside boardwalk, extra Monopoly money, tiny plastic charms from the iron claw machine, etc.–they all will go at some time or another.  But not right now.

I also enjoyed going through a lot of his posts–I always like that.  He always could make me laugh.  As I said in a previous post, he made me laugh before I ever met him.

It was quiet and raining and that was just fine, too.

There’s much to do.

But there’s no rush.

Have a good night, all.

God bless everybody.

Very Busy Today

Let’s just say I was very busy all day, but not very efficient.

Got involved in a number of things that I had to address and the day just disappeared on me.  That happens quite often and just now, would you believe it, the keyboard seemed to be acting up.

It’s better now.  That would be all I would need at this point in my day–the keyboard going out.

Very sorry that I didn’t post as much as usual, but it couldn’t be helped.

Things should be a lot better tomorrow.

I am going to quit while I’m ahead.

See you tomorrow.

God bless everybody.

Quiet, Rainy Day Today

It was a typical spring day here in New Jersey.  Overcast, rainy and not too warm.

Had to nip out to the store, but other than that I spent a very quiet day, going over a lot of Lee’s posts, deciding what to select.  Many memories there–some good and some not so good.  But most of the not so good ones were very funny.  Gallows humor and hyperbole were two of his strong points.

There’s still a ton of stuff to be taken care of here, but there is no rush.

Apropos of nothing, I have been having a real yearning for stuffed cabbage.  It’s a bit of work to make, but I think I will do it anyway.  Maybe tomorrow or the next day.

I got another doctor bill for Lee today, and when I went online to pay it, the system wouldn’t let me.  When I called their information number, I was told to just write a check.  So much for their lah-di-dah, cutting-edge, automated billing system.

Well, that about covers it for today.

See you tomorrow.

God bless everybody.

Really Busy Day Today

Today I had a few errands to run.

The new government of this borough has really succeeded in making the traffic here unbearable.  It’s a small town with far too many cars.  They just keep packing people in. Lee had run into the new mayor a few years ago, and he (the mayor) was thrilled that the town was packed .  He said “On Sunday you could have rolled a bowling ball down Main Street”  to which Lee replied  “That’s the way we liked it.”  My honey sure was no diplomat.

I only needed to go to the bank, Whole Foods, and the Post Office.

It took me forever.

It also got blazingly hot here–very unseasonable.  They said it was 85, but it felt a lot hotter.  And of course, as soon as you leave the car to go into someplace, the car heats right up again.

I did put up that interview with Rudy Giuliani because I really like him.  He was  a  marvelous mayor, who loves that town and his lungs  are now very compromised because of all the time he spent at Ground Zero.

I remember another incident about that time.  A group of political figures were assembled somewhere in New York.  Everyone was in shock over the attack, and Ed Koch was in tears.  Hillary Clinton actually said  “Ed, why are you crying?”   Democrat or not, Ed Koch loved New York City.  And Hillary showed what a dunderhead she was.

It is now time for me to start my supper and go back to watching ER which I had never seen before.

See you tomorrow.

God bless everybody.

Quiet Day Today

Today was really quiet as I was sort of recuperating from the stressy weekend.  First the prescription hassle, then yesterday the computer problem.  Thankfully, they are over and done with.

Tomorrow I have a number of errands to run, but that is actually a good thing for me to do.

May will be a difficult month for me as Lee’s birthday is the 9th, which will unleash a flood of memories of birthdays past.  We always did certain things for his birthday, over the course of a few days.  One of the things I did up until a few years ago was make him a Pod-cake.  I would get two undecorated cake layers at our old supermarket bakery department, and make my own frosting (which he loved).  The odd name is because his nickname for me was Pod.

Just had to get up and answer the phone (another nuisance call).

Those people never stop.

Well, that’s it for now.

God bless everybody

Hooray for Walgreens

I have to give credit where credit is due.

Yesterday’s prescription fiasco had me worried.  I went to Walgreen’s this morning and my prescription was there.  I truly don’t know how they did it –that giant mix-up yesterday seemed insurmountable.  I did compliment the woman who took care of me today–if you can complain about problems, you can also give credit where it is really due.

Then I came home and ran into a giant problem with Youtube and WordPress.  I evidently pressed a wrong key and suddenly I could not import videos from Youtube into WordPress.  This is a major source of information and entertainment and I would really be lost without the ability to use both platforms.  I fiddled around with it all afternoon and just ran a test video (the baby horses and moms) and it is now working perfectly.

And that, dear friends, is enough for today.

God bless everybody.

The Saga Continues…

I spent most of today trying to straighten out the prescription fiasco.  I feel like a made a million phone calls.  And of course, at the beginning of each call I had to field inquiries from their idiot computer.

What a royal pain in the butt.

It was a multiplicity of errors.  Part was my fault for not noticing on my “after visit summary” ( from a couple of weeks ago) that the wrong pharmacy  was listed.  OK, my bad, but I have not used that pharmacy in 3 years.  Someone at the doctor’s office screwed up there.

Then the pharmacist told me (on the phone) that my insurance would not cover it.  I said I have been getting this scrip all this year and they have paid for it (their portion, anyway). Then when the pharmacist said she could get the prescription she gave me another drug name.  I told her that was the wrong drug.

I have a really bad feeling about this.

Supposedly I can go there tomorrow and pick up my prescription.

Bottom line–I am going to open the bag in the store tomorrow to make sure it is the right prescription.

I am now going to have a glass of wine and make my supper.

Tomorrow has got to be better.

God bless everybody.
