‘Ave Maria’ (Bocelli)

Ave Maria, sung by Andrea Bocelli–remember, everybody: this has become a time in history when we all have to sing louder. And forget the denominations: it’s Christ’s people vs. the antichrists. God has richly endowed us with enemies, we don’t have to fight each other.

And it would’ve been a shame not to put this on the Your Favorite Hymns list.

‘Panis Angelicus’

Your Favorite Hymns continues with Panis Angelicus (Angels’ Bread), sung in Latin by Andrea Bocelli.

Please feel free to add any of your favorite hymns to the list.

By Request, ‘The Prayer’

Requested by Erlene–The Prayer, sung by Andrea Bocelli and Katharine McPhee. I usually save Bocelli for Christmas-time, but it won’t hurt to showcase him in June.

By Request, ‘What Child Is This’

Before I write up any more inane and unedifying nooze, let’s have this, requested by Joshua–What Child Is This, sung by Andrea Bocelli with Mary J. Blige.

Keep those carols coming, everybody! It’s our answer to the fallen world.

‘Amazing Grace’ (Andrea Bocelli)

Does this hymn, or this singer, need an introduction? Amazing Grace, sung by Andrea Bocelli.

‘Panis Angelicus’ (Andrea Bocelli)

This lovely hymn, Panis Angelicus (“Bread of Angels”), sung by Andrea Bocelli, came into my head as I was grocery shopping this morning. It’s one of the hymns we play when setting up our Christmas tree.

Who is the bread of angels? Jesus Christ: “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” (John 6:51)

By Request, ‘Adeste Fideles’

Phoebe asked for Adeste Fideles–and there were so many lovely renditions to choose from (pardon the dangling preposition), no way to go wrong. So I hope you all enjoy this one, sung by Andrea Bocelli.

‘Amazing Grace’ (Andrea Bocelli)

We aren’t one of those awful blogs that chase off family members. My wife discovered Andrea Bocelli yesterday, and his rendition of Amazing Grace brought her to tears. I’ve been saving it for this morning.

Born with poor eyesight, Bocelli became blind following a sports injury suffered when he was 12 years old. He has become one of the world’s most beloved singers; and we have him singing one of the world’s best-loved hymns.

By Request: ‘The Prayer’

Erlene asked for this one: The Prayer, sung by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli.

Remember, the hymn shop is open to everybody, all day, every day. So if there’s a hymn you’d like to see posted here, just let us know.

By Request, ‘The Lord’s Prayer’

Thanks to Diane for requesting this gorgeous musical performance of The Lord’s Prayer–sung by Andrea Bocelli, backed up with, oh, a few musical instruments and a bit of choir. Awesome!
