By Request, ‘Go Tell It on the Mountain’

Back to the Christmas Carol Contest! Requested by Phoebe, Go Tell It On the Mountain–this rendition by For King & Country.

Remember, anyone can enter–and it’s only five days now till Christmas.

By Request, ‘My Christmas Prayer’

Entered by Erlene in our Second Annual Christmas Carol Contest–My Christmas Prayer, by Don Moen.

Many of you haven’t entered the contest yet: the prize is an autographed book: His Mercy Endureth Forever. But if you already have it, and want to hold out for the next book, The Wind from Heaven, that’s okay, too.

Best Ever ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’

We posted this last year and it didn’t win the carol contest; but this year it’s really getting views! But that’s only because it’s so wonderful. Moves me just about to tears.

O Come All Ye Faithful, performed by the students at Fountainview Academy on this cute little train–on the Kettle Valley Railway in Summerland, British Columbia.

What would you give to take this ride with them?

‘The Holly and the Ivy’ (Maddy Prior)

I’ve never heard this carol sung to this tune before–The Holly and the Ivy, by Maddy Prior and Steeleye Span.

Hey, it’s the last weekend before Christmas! Let’s have those Christmas Carol Contest entries.

By Request, ‘Heavenly Hosts’

Requested by Susan (but not eligible to win the contest, because she’s my editor)–Heavenly Hosts, sung by For King & Country.

Well, come on, everybody! So far the leading carol has 25 views on the day it was posted–can we get more? Let’s see!

By Request, ‘Oh, Holy Night’

This one almost slipped past me–O Holy Night, sung by John Berry, requested by “Ohio Chess Fan.” I try to post all hymn requests, all entries into the carol contest, but don’t be too surprised if I miss one now and then.

Fauci: You Can’t See Your Kids This Christmas

TikTok, to-go drinks and linguini: #FireFauci brings out Fauci fanatics - POLITICO

Dr. Anthony Fauci–what’s he a doctor of, by the way? and when was the last time he actually treated a patient?–sez Americans mustn’t get their families together for Christmas this year because King Virus gonna getcha and you’re all gonna die… unless you obey the government.

He’s not gonna see his kids this Christmas, “and neither should you,” sez he. It’s “just one of those things you’re going to have to accept as we go through this unprecedented challenging time” (https://www.foxnews.com/us/fauci-tells-americans-not-to-see-their-kids-for-christmas), blah-blah.

Question! What makes this time “unprecedented”? Why do we have to turn our lives and our business upside-down? We’ve never done this in response to any other disease or natural disaster. Never. So why are we doing it now?

Because “scientists” hand-raised by government have said so!

Anyhow, sez Fauci, the lockdowns etc. are “not going to last forever,” wink-wink, nudge-nudge, and what with new vaccines, next Christmas should be just hunky-dory! Unless they move the goalposts again. Do you really think they won’t do that?

COVID-19 has turned into an experiment in tyranny. How big can we grow the government, and how fast can we do it? Globalists say “Let’s find out!”

‘Ding-Dong Merrily on High’ (With Harpsichord!)

The computer stopped working for a while this morning: or rather, WordPress stopped working. I was pleased to get it back just now.

Now don’t worry, I’m not trying to win my own Christmas carol contest. I’m posting this because a) I love the harpsichord, b) I love this carol, c) I love the snow, and d) I’ve just read a fantastic essay by Martin Selbrede on “The Victory of Truth,” and I can hardly wait to share it with you. But first I’ve got to clear the snow off our cars, and that’ll give me some time to think about what I want to say.

Meanwhile, let’s make a joyful noise unto the Lord!

By Request, ‘I Believe in Christmas’

Erlene asked for this one–I Believe in Christmas, by Carroll Roberson.

Come on, now, everybody, let’s go to town on Christmas carols! We need Christmas this year–so keep those carols coming.

By Request, ‘Joy to the World’

Welcome aboard, Rosy Marr, entering our Second Annual Christmas Carol Contest with this–Joy to the World, by the Wissmann Family. I do enjoy the sound of this! Who said you can’t do classical music with a banjo.

Remember–the contest winner will get an autographed copy of one of my books (your choice). Sorry, no bicycles.
