Erlene gets the Christmas Carol Contest rolling with this request for Wise Men Follow Him, by Carroll Roberson. Does anybody recognize the movie clips?

Here, lemme have that starter pistol… Blam! I hereby open our first annual Christmas Carol Contest, starting, like, right now and running through December 26.
Unbearable excitement will be generated, I just know it–lots and lots of Christmas fun! Oh–and I’d better tell you how it works.
Readers may request Christmas hymns to be posted here, no limit on how many. At the end of each day, I’ll check the stats and see which hymn got the most views that day, and who requested it. The winner will be whoever requested the hymn that got the most views on any given day during the contest.
F’rinstance, say on Nov. 30 someone asks for “The Sussex Carol” and it gets 14 views that day, and it was the most views any hymn had gotten so far. But then on Dec. 5 someone else requests “I Saw Three Ships” and it gets 15 views that day: it would become the new front-runner in the contest. The leader can change from day to day, which ought to make the contest fun to watch.
At the end of Dec. 26 I’ll check and see who posted the Christmas hymn that got the most views in a day, and that person will be the winner. The prize will be an autographed copy of one of my books. Or treasure.
Anyone is eligible to play, and from time to time I’ll announce which hymn is currently leading the pack. We will not be doing secular Christmas carols. No “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”–we are proclaiming the birth of Jesus Christ, the Word of God made flesh.
Anyway, the contest is now open, and I await your pleasure.

Sorry, just couldn’t write up any nooze today.
Tomorrow I have to take Patty back to the doctor’s for more tests, I don’t know how long that will take, and please pray that the test results are good.
I’ve prepared for a couple of posts to be published in our absence.
Well, I find myself looking forward to our first Christmas Carol Contest, and steeling myself not to open it until the day after Thanksgiving. We always post a lot of Christmas hymns around here, and I hope the contest makes it even more fun for all of us.
It now appears that when I finished writing my book on Thursday, I finished on the very last day I could have finished. It’s been brutal weather since then.
I hope to be back with you sometime tomorrow afternoon.

I had a feeling the comment contest would be won today, and next thing I knew, Erlene had won it: Comment No. 35,000. Time to celebrate!
Regrettably, I am unable to award the Eiffel Tower to the winner; so, Erlene, you’ll have to be contest with an autographed copy of one of my books, your choice (but do try not to pick Bell Mountain, because I’m temporarily out of those). Send me an email to give me your mailing address–oh, and be sure to say which book you want.
Next, starting the day after Thanksgiving, will be our first Christmas Carol Contest. I hope it’ll prove to be a big success and something we can enjoy every year, God willing.
To all of you whose comments made the contest fun, there will be another one by and by. So keep those comments coming!
Requested by Erlene, I Believe in Christmas–and look, now, the Christmas Carol Contest doesn’t officially start until the day after Thanksgiving, but I just can’t say no to a hymn request.
Don’t forget there’s a comment contest going on just now: shooting for 35,000, and as of this moment, just over 1,000 left to go. I wonder if we can wrap that up by Halloween.
