Here’s another Sunday school favorite, He Leadeth Me, performed by the kids from Fountainview Academy, British Columbia. during their visit to Hawaii.
There are a lot of you who are new to this blog, and I want to invite you to ask for your favorite hymns to be posted here. We like to start each day with a hymn. So if you have one you’d like to share, just let us know.
This was another hymn we sang a lot of in Sunday school, Wonderful Words of Life. We couldn’t do it up like these kids here at Fountainview Academy (oh, those voices! how those girls can sing!), complete with a lovely lake setting. We had to settle for just our own untrained voices and the lady at the piano. And that was just fine, too.
That lake–sometimes the work of God’s hands is so beautiful, you could cry. Turning into a softy in my old age, I guess.
Blessed Assurance has been in my mind lately, and so has Fountainview Academy. When I went to youtube this morning to select a hymn, I soon settled on this. Then, returning here to post it, I first noticed I had a new message from “thewhiterabbit”–requesting Blessed Assurance as the hymn for the day.
Now that is cool!

It’s amazing what can be done with the human voice as a musical instrument, praising the Lord. The kids at Fountainview Academy are in perfect harmony here, performing Power in the Blood. Wow!
Youtube has this mislabeled as Joy to the World, which is what I expected to hear when I clicked it. But what comes out is this beautiful performance, by the kids at Fountainview Academy, of Away in a Manger.
Think about it. To a world boiling over with wickedness, suffering, sin, and death, God sends, to repair it and redeem it… a baby in a manger.
Christianity is an excitingly wild idea. The more you think on it, the wilder it gets. But as C.S. Lewis said, “He’s not a tame lion.”
That’s a pretty nice natural amphitheater God set up for them, isn’t it?

Lord, grant this Christmas season of 2017 great power to draw all hearts to Jesus Christ, our rightful King and Savior: amen.

How I would love to meet you folks out there in person! But I think we’ll meet at tht river–the wonderful river that flows past the throne of God.
