Dogs ‘n’ cats, parrots, and a cow–and they’re all having fun. I ought to stir up my own cats now, but I’m pretty sure they intend to sleep until the sun comes out again.
If a dog (or cat) can’t cheer you up, you’re pretty far gone.
I don’t know why, but most of the dogs in this video are into jumping, mostly on top of each other at inopportune moments. My favorite is the little fellow on the trampoline.
Go ahead, tell me dogs don’t have a sense of fun! But why else would you put on a high-energy threat display for the benefit of a broccoli or a strawberry? On second thought, don’t answer that.

Sometimes our cats would run to the door when we came home. But cats are less excitable than dogs. And iguanas even more so. I think our turtle was our biggest fan.
Humans aren’t the only creatures that throw tantrums. Dogs do, too. Maybe they’d been hanging out with us longer than is good for their character.
Here’s a French bulldog not getting his way. The sounds he makes are guaranteed to make you grind your teeth.

One thing about dogs: most of them don’t stand on ceremony. But we humans have loved them for umpteen thousand years, and that’s not about to change.
Really, though–a dog will take a prat fall and just not care. Oh, they’ll act ashamed when they’re getting rebuked for chewing up the mail or getting stuck in unusual places; but how sincere are they? It won’t stop them from doing it again the next time you go out for an afternoon.
I don’t know that I would ever reward a dog for tearing up a bunch of paper bags and leaving the room in a shambles… which I would have to clean up.
Then again, I always wanted my pets to have as much fun as they could. Even if it got a bit messy.
Just as long as the cat never learns how to open the refrigerator…
So you thought only cats did this goofy stuff with paper bags? Mais non, mon cher! (as Hercule Poirot would say). Here’s a dog who gets his jollies doing the same thing. And apparently it’s all right with the resident human. I dunno. My mother would’ve pitched a fit…
