The Urge to Sit on Cats

Who knows why some dogs have this overpowering urge to sit on cats? I mean, they might get scratched or bitten in a tender spot… It cannot be said that cats appreciate this gesture.

For the sake of being fair and balanced, this video also presents a few cats who like to sit on dogs.

We are shown no animals that like to sit on porcupines.

Bonus Video: Dogs Scared of Cats

Our friend “optimal play” posted this on my chess page today, and I thought it might give you a chuckle. Some of these clips have appeared in other compilations, so you might have seen them before–but they’re still funny.

What do these dogs know about these cats that we don’t know? Or is it something that they only think they know?

P.S.–Must be nice weather everywhere, today: readership is way below average. Oh, well….

The Dog Wins

This is a very short video, so watch closely. Several cats are intently focused on the activities of a bird outside–and then….!

Paper-Happy Pets

Good grief! Are they all after our toilet paper? Even a bunny gets in on the act–and you won’t belief what that green parrot is doing with the paper he’s so carefully shredding. I am soooo glad my cats don’t do this!

Cuddlin’ Critters

Dog cuddling guinea pig, cat cuddling rat–what? Did I really see that?

They don’t just love us. Our pets will love each other, too. Although what hope the tortoise had of catching the cat, and what he thought would happen if he did, can only be conjectured.

A Peaceful Interlude with Nice Animals

All right, it’s not the catchiest headline I ever wrote; but at least it’s accurate.

I gotta feel for the dog with the monarch butterfly sitting on his head: he has absolutely no idea what to do. Monarchs are much less skittish than other butterflies because nobody eats them. Monarch caterpillars live on milkweed, and the milkweed stuff stays in their system after they turn into butterflies, and it tastes bad. If a bird eats a monarch, he won’t eat another.

And then there are the ducks taking a short-cut through somebody’s house…

Some Eccentric Dogs

Give dogs credit for making their own fun–if that’s the right word for this pit bull’s interactions with a pineapple. The dog who has figured out how to play “fetch” with himself, using a trampoline, is surely smarter than Lord Emsworth.

You certainly can’t say they’re all alike.

The Protective Instinct

Sometimes domestication can lead to our pets’ protective instincts taking curious forms, as seen in this video. But we also see what it’s really all about–when the ducks won’t let the fox come near their ducklings… and when the cranes escort an alligator out of their neighborhood. Would you volunteer to see off a full-grown gator? (If so, the line forms over there–behind you.)

Like Cats ‘n’ Dogs

The funny thing about these “fights” is, no one’s getting hurt–even if a couple of dogs do scream bloody murder when being chased by a cat. How easy would it be for these guys to do a number on each other? I mean, if you were a tiny kitten, would you stand your ground against a rottweiler? I’m not, and I wouldn’t.

Sneezy Kitty, Sneezy Pup

Just because you sneeze doesn’t mean your sick, a lot of things can provoke a sneeze, so don’t anybody get all alarmed. Some of the sneezes in this video are real doozies, so much more creative than what we humans can come up with. And none of these critters looks sick, so again, don’t worry. Just enjoy their unguarded moments.
