John Bunyan’s Hymn

We are still flailing away at computer … “issues.” Now we’ve got the laptop up and running, but the printer has vanished into the twilight zone.

Anyway, here’s a hymn for the day–John Bunyan’s hymn, He Who Would Valiant Be, sung by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band.

By Request, ‘O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing’

A hymn request to start the day–O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing, another classic by Charles Wesley, performed by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band.

Shout-out to my Sunday school teacher: Yo, Mr. Robinson! This is what you were teaching us, isn’t it? See–I do remember!

‘Light of the World’

Some of these hymns are really getting to me, lately. I expect that’s a good thing, and I give the LORD thanks for it.

Here’s another of my favorites–Light of the World, played the old-fashioned way by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band.

‘To Be a Pilgrim’

No comments, no likes, no hymn requests–looks like I’m on my own again.

I found myself energetically whistling this hymn last night , so here it it, one of my favorites–To Be a Pilgrim, by John Bunyan, sung the old-fashioned way by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band.

‘How Firm a Foundation’

I’m off to a late start today, and having no reader requests waiting for me here, I chose the first hymn to pop into my head–How Firm a Foundation, sung the old-fashioned way by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band. It’s the way I like to hear it.

‘How Firm a Foundation’

No hymn requests this morning… but the door is always open. Meanwhile, I selected this for us: How Firm a Foundation, sung by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band. Our church sang it to the tune of “Oh Come, All Ye Faithful.” Dutch Reformed.

Bonus Hymn: ‘How Firm a Foundation’

Having filled out the wrong box on the calendar, I missed my appointment with the eye doctor (it was yesterday, not today: only found out when I got there) and had to reschedule.

Meanwhile, I felt the need for this particular hymn at this particular time–How Firm a Foundation, performed by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band. I take these as prompts from Above.

(I am trying, Lord. Honest.)

One More Hymn: ‘To Be a Pilgrim’

Before we dumpster-dive into the day’s nooze, one more hymn–John Bunyan’s hymn, To Be a Pilgrim, performed by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band. This hymn has been on my mind all morning, so I reckon I’d better post it… and see what happens.

‘Light of the World’

Hardly anybody here today: somebody’s out there suppressing Christian blogs. So we have no hymn requests, I’m on my own… I’ll go with this: Light of the World by Charles Wesley, sung by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band.

John Bunyan’s Hymn

No hymn requests this morning, so I’ll go back to my favorites and pluck out this one–To Be a Pilgrim, sung by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band. The verses, published first in 1684, are generally attributed to John Bunyan, writer of The Pilgrim’s Progress.
