‘ O Worship the King’

One of the first hymns I learned to play on my harmonica: O Worship the King, sung here by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band.

And now it’s time for me to run around seeing doctors and not getting any better.

‘Light of the World’

I find myself apt to growl this morning, and then snap–but that will never do. I think I need a hymn and some prayers.

Here’s one of my favorites: Light of the World, by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band.

Aaaaah… That’s better.

‘Behold, the Mountain of the Lord’

I know, I know: I’ve posted this video many times: Behold, the Mountain of the Lord, sung by Godfrey Birtill. Over the years, it’s become one of my favorite hymns.

Maybe it can give me a sip of courage.

‘Behold the Mountain of the Lord’

Mr. Computer was in a state of rebellion this morning, and it took at hour to get the blasted thing working. Plus our cat is sick: we would appreciate your prayers.

Readership having dwindled again… Well, here’s one of my favorite hymns, medicine for the troubled heart: an old-time Scottish hymn, Behold the Mountain of the Lord, sung by Godfrey Birtill.

‘Trust and Obey’

I don’t remember whether I’ve posted this recently or not. But it’s one of my favorite hymns, I haven’t yet received today any hymn requests from readers, and it’s a beautiful him even if I don’t know who’s singing it! A classic Sunday school favorite–Trust and Obey.

My Ten Favorite Hymns

This Is My Father's World - with Lyrics - YouTube

(I am doing the whole post over from scratch because it just disappeared before I could finish posting it. I hate computers.)

I’m always inviting you all to submit your favorite hymns to be posted here and shared with others. But then I got to wonder, “What are my favorite hymns? The top ten, say?” All right. In no particular order, here are ten of my favorites.

This Is My Father’s World; Be Thou My Vision; Light of the World; All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name; Jesus Saves; Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee; I Sing the Mighty Power of God; Behold the Mountain of the Lord; Revive Us Again; A Mighty Fortress Is Our God

If I were to write the list an hour from now, or tomorrow, or next week, it would probably be different. I have a lot more than just ten, but one has to stop somewhere. So just now, those are my favorites.

What are yours?
