Here’s one way to handle a hymn–a zillion people in the Royal Albert Hall, singing for all they’re worth, and backed up by a full orchestra.
Requested by Ina: Shine, Jesus, Shine. Performed by everybody in the building.

I’ve had a spot of trouble with YouTube this morning, but I’ve finally got a hymn posted for us–Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee, sung by–well, everybody!–at the Royal Albert Hall. Composed by Beethoven: too good not to be picked up as a hymn.
Requested by Erlene, and coming to you from a packed house at the Royal Albert Hall, London, Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee–and if this doesn’t rev you up, what will?
Music like this is proof of what the Holy Spirit can do, through ordinary, and some not-so-ordinary, people.
I saved this special for Christmas morning–The Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah, sung by the Royal Choral Society at the Royal Albert Hall. This was a Good Friday performance in 2012; but if you can think of a better occasion for The Hallelujah Chorus than Christmas Day itself–well, tally-ho.
Anyway, from me to you…
We’re at the Royal Albert Hall in London (in spirit) to hear the choir, full orchestra, and a couple thousand people sing Holy, Holy, Holy; and then for a bonus they’ll go on to give us Now Thank We All Our God. Sometimes there’s nothing like the full treatment! Make a joyful noise unto the Lord.
If this doesn’t stir your soul, better check and see if you can fog a mirror.
Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee–all it takes is music by Beethoven, a couple thousand people singing it with all they’ve got, a full orchestra, and the acoustics of the Royal Albert Hall. Turn up the volume!
Sometimes there’s just nothing like a full orchestra and a couple thousand people singing–like here, at the Royal Albert Hall: To God Be the Glory. This video was made in 2012, not so long ago. I pray the hymns are still being sung in Britain. I pray there are men, women, and children humming or whistling them as they go about their daily activities.
Anyway, this is great–crank up the volume and let it do its thing.
I have to go to the nursing home this morning; but first, a hymn.
Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee, music by Beethoven, sung by a multitude at the Royal Albert Hall, inspiration by the Holy Spirit–someday I would like to hear what this hymn sounds like when sung by a million of the saints in heaven. Wouldn’t you?
A full orchestra, full choir, and the Royal Albert Hall packed with singers–and the traditional Welsh hymn, Cwm Rhondda, here rendered into English as Guide Me, O Thou Great Redeemer… Really, if this doesn’t stir your soul, ask someone to hold a mirror under your nose and see if you fog it.
Hey! Easter’s almost here!
Okay, we’ve got a couple thousand people in the Royal Albert Hall to sing this for you–Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee, music by Beethoven, a project of the Holy Spirit. Turn it up, turn it way up!
