The Company You Keep (Cat and Owl)

The title of this video says the cat and the owl are best friends. I don’t know about that. The cat seems friendly enough, but it’s very hard to read an owl’s facial expression. I never learned how to do it. I suspect the cat wants to borrow money from the owl and the owl is pretending not to understand.

Cats in Tricky Situations

It’s not easy being a cat. You have so many opportunities to get yourself into real trouble.

You will love the cat playing with the hamster ball.

And you will pity that person who seems intent on teaching his cat to play around with his computer.

You Can’t Hide from Your Cat

Here’s what happens when you try to hide from your cat. He finds you.

Actually, a lot of cats really enjoy this game. It’s a wise human who plays with a cat. And now, if you’ll excuse me, I want to go see what Peep is doing.

Sanity Break: Kittens at Play

All right, I’m a sucker for kitten faces. Can’t help it.

But I do admit to a feeling other than warm coziness that time I checked under the bed and there found the two little round furry faces, big ears and all, peering back at me, upside-down, from a hole they’d torn in the bottom of the box spring.

None of the kittens in these videos do things like that.

Video Treat: Omar the Cat

Tami sent us this video of her family cat, Omar, playing with a treasured family heirloom. This is why it is recommended to keep such things away from cats.

Omar is named after an old Norwegian pastor who has discovered that he likes cats, after all–well, this one, at least.

Sweet Treat: The Cat’s Meow

Oh, here he goes with another one of those soppy cat videos!

I’m a swordsman. I can post all the cat videos I please.

If that first little kitten doesn’t do it for you, I don’t know what will.

Sanity Break: Corgis Are Fun

I get a kick out of these little dogs–just the kind of kick I need right now, after surveying (I started to type “surviving”) more of this day’s unedifying news that I couldn’t bear to write about.

God knew what he was doing when He gave us dogs and cats. They can help us keep our sanity.

Sanity Break: Cats & Tails

If you had a tail, would you chase it? And what would you do with it, if you caught it?

It’s been a hard day, and I want to unwind by watching cats wind themselves up–which they are obviously doing just because they like it. At least I can’t think of any other reason for tail-chasing.

Time to Relax: Happy Cats

I think we’ve had enough news for the day, don’t you? How about some happy cats, instead? Guaranteed to raise a smile.

The little character getting her belly washed reminds me of our cat, Peep–not that she would ever in a million years consent to such treatment. The ones on the spinning chair remind me of Peep’s sister, Robbie–who absolutely loves, loves, loves to be spun around on the computer chair!

Just some more of God’s stuff that really works.

Intrepid Cats Pursue Moth

Yes, it’s always a big occasion when a moth gets into the house; and the guy who filmed this is soooo lucky his cats didn’t run afoul of anything breakable.

Our two cats, Robbie and Peep, normally at war with one another, instantly close ranks whenever a bug violates our space. Down with the moth!

Our old cat Henry, when the moth came to rest on the ceiling, would sit there looking up at it and meowing angrily: “Come down from there, you coward!” Few moths complied.
