Sorry, but I’m partial to baby sloths and my wife’s crazy about them, so here they are–a couple of them learning how to climb, honing their skills at the sloth sanctuary.
Listen to the vocalizations made by these little guys. They sound almost human. They don’t wind up going off to collidge, either.
Video Treat: Puppies Learning to Howl
Hey, it’s raining again, it’s Friday, my blood pressure’s back down to where it ought to be (we now think I bollixed up the monitor yesterday and got some crazy readings)–so how about a bunch of puppies learning how to howl?
Imitation is a great teacher, even if you’re a puppy being taught the fine art of howling by a human being.
If we had been creating the world, instead of God, we never, never would have thought of puppies. Thank you, Lord!
Sanity Break: Cat Watches TV
All right, I can’t stand any more. My blood pressure has shot way up again, for reasons I don’t know, and I need a cat break.
Observe this young fellow intently watching TV. I’ve had cats who watched for a while but then gave it up when they learned they could never get at the critters that lived inside it.

Sanity Break: Ollie the Kitten
My wife is in love with this noisy little character, so here he is: Ollie the talkative Siamese kitten. By now he has grown up to be a talkative cat.
Shouldn’t let him bite, though. It reminds me of how I used to think it was so cute to get down on all fours and encourage Buster the kitten to ride on my back. He really took to it, and when he was a full-grown very big cat, he’d hop on anybody’s back. That did not always go over very well.
Sanity Break: Dogs & Cats & Beds
Anything can happen when dogs and cats are brought up in the same household. And what usually happens is, the cat steals the dog’s new bed. These poor dogs don’t know what to do about it.
I wish I had a picture of my iguana cuddled up on my bed between his two good friends–a schnauzer and a big black cat.
Sanity Break: Baby Goat and Playful Dog
You won’t believe how ecstatically happy this dog is over his introduction to this baby goat. You gotta hand it to dogs: they have a gift for joy. The goat is more concerned with trying to understand this new environment and keeping his feet–er, hooves–on the slippery wooden floor. The dog skids all over the place but is having too much fun to care.
