Slimy Politician’s Snow Job

Here in New Jersey today, we have six inches of snow on the ground and the temperature is only in the teens. You should have seen the panic in the supermarket yesterday. A guy in front of me in the checkout line was buying a hundred  batteries. Was he getting ready for a winter snowstorm or the end of the world?

Meanwhile, in sunny Viet Nam, our country’s sleazy and disreputable Secretary of State–this was on the front page of The New York Times this morning–is yapping inanely about how we’ve just gotta have a global “climate change” treaty, otherwise Global Warming’s gonna fry us all, gimme your money, gimme your freedoms, and so on.

Hmm, lemme see now… It gets hot in the summer, and then it gets cold in the winter… And as we speak, a whole shipful of Global Warming alarmists from Australia is frozen into the ice around Antarctica, and there’s no icebreaker big enough to get through and rescue them. The passengers can be lifted off by helicopter, but it looks like the ice is going to eat their ship.

The Useful Idiot Nooze Media neglects to mention that practically every Global Warming/Green Party pinhead in Australia was on that ship to study the Global Warming-caused melting of the Antarctic ice pack. Well, who you gonna believe–your lying eyes and the frozen sea all around you, or your ideology?

Global Warming is too good a gig for Big Government, and they’ll never give it up–never, not if Hell itself freezes over. Saving The Planet gives them license to do anything they please.

May the Lord smite them and erase their works.

Global Warming: No Dissent Allowed

When you’re losing an argument, you can always let on that you won if only you can gag the other side.

The Los Angeles Times in October decided not to publish any more letters or admit comments from people dissenting from Global Warming dogma. This week, a popular website, Reddit, has done the same (see http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2013/12/warmist_fundamentalists_ban_dissent.html ).

High Priest Al Gore has applauded the action.

The science guy at Reddit said they did it because all dissent from Global Warmism is heresy, and “anti-scientific.”

Even when bona fide scientists dissent, they’re “anti-scientific.” Even worse, they’re “deniers.” You shouldn’t be allowed to read what they have to say. Shut up and trust the Experts.

Hide the decline, hide the decline, hide the decline…

 

 

Do You Worship Science?

You can learn a lot by chatting on the Internet. Here is one thing I’ve learned.

Most people, including most Christians, consider “Science” (whatever they might mean by the term) to be the highest authority for truth–higher than God’s word.

Alone among human enterprises, Science is held to be virtually immune to corruption, wishful thinking, prejudice, or folly.

People are genuinely shocked if you suggest that science is not immune to those frailties of human nature. They are shocked if you suggest that a scientist is no more likely to be truthful, moral, or trustworthy than a politician, a used car salesman, or a televangelist.

People will trust Science and scientists blindly. They will defend Science with a zeal and an emotional heat which, if exercised in the defense of a religious belief, would make them quite uneasy if they saw it.

For most people, Science is synonymous with truth. But do they even know what Science is?

I was taught to believe that Science is the application of the Scientific Method–observe, make a hypothesis, experiment, analyze, etc. The Scientific Method is only a procedure, not a definitive statement on the nature of reality; and it has served us well.

But at least for members of today’s scientific community, Science is a thorough-going, overarching world-view which is purely materialistic: that is, for these scientists, nothing exists that cannot be measured by our senses or our instruments.

That rules out God, and practically everything else that really matters.

I don’t believe most people realize that Science makes that claim. They just put their trust in it.

What Do You Think? (Or Do You Just Not Think At All?)

I saw a documentary in which the following exchange took place.

Q: “Do you believe in Global Warming?”

A: “Yes, I do!”

Q: “Why?”

A: [Pause. Blush. Look all around, as if there might be a teleprompter handy. Shrug. More pause. And then…] tee-hee-hee!

Or we might ask, “Do you believe in Evolution?” And the usual answer will be something like, “Oh, yes! Why, Evolution’s scientific!” We might then ask, “How do you know it to be true?” Pick one:

“I saw it on TV.”

“That’s what they tell me.”

“I read about it somewhere.”

Or, best of all, “Whaddya mean, how do I know it’s true? It’s science! That’s how I know! Science is always true! Always! Yhaaaaah!” [Falls backward, flops uncontrollably; pink foam issues from ears]

They won’t believe something is true because the Bible says so. But something must be true because “Science” says so.

Churches please take note.

 

Runaway Science

Even in these days of the colossal Global Warming Hoax (“Hide the decline!”), we are still offered Science as the last word in authority and truth. Even the Bible can only be true to the degree to which it conforms to Science.

But it’s instructive to see what Science gets up to when it’s feeling frisky.

In 1851, Dr. Samuel A. Cartwright identified a new mental disorder, drapetomania. In a paper read before the Medical Association of Louisiana, Dr. Cartwright, man of science, identified drapetomania as psychological quirk that made “Negroes” try to run away from slavery. If they were mentally healthy, you see, they would be satisfied to remain slaves all their lives. It was only mental illness that would make them aspire to freedom.

As a preventive measure, Dr. Cartwright recommended harsh whippings. As a cure, he recommended cutting off the runaway slave’s big toes.

If he were around today, he would be writing about homophobia, transphobia, or some other imaginary problem.

God is not a man, that He should lie (Numbers 23:19). But scientists are men, and some of them lie like rugs (“Hide the decline!”). And some of them are just plain loopy.

 

Another Black Eye for Evolution

In Darwinian mythology, flowering plants don’t come along until well toward the end of the Age of Dinosaurs. That age, the Mesozoic Era, is divided into three parts: the Triassic Period, when dinosaurs first appear (along with mammals); the Jurassic, famous for its terrifically huge dinosaurs; and the Cretaceous, at the end of which the dinos go extinct.

Because no fossils of flowering plants were found in rocks said to be older than the Cretaceous, Darwinists concluded that flowering plants did not “evolve” until then. They also told us grass didn’t exist until the Age of Mammals, which was “a fact” until a dinosaur’s fossilized stomach contents showed… a lot of grass.

The Triassic flowers–the fossils are pollen grains–came from Switzerland and from the floor of the Barents Sea ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/24331982 ). So again the Darwinists’ stately flow of “evolution” is knocked all out of whack. Flowers are not supposed to be in the Triassic!

Their theories are so much better off without the fossil record. Remember being taught that “birds evolved from dinosaurs”? Kiss that one goodbye. Now we’ve got Triassic birds that were flying just as the first dinosaurs were supposed to be coming on stage. For a real laugh, do an Internet search for “dinosaur soft tissue.” How can soft tissue still be around, after millions and millions of years inside a dead dinosaur? By now they’ve discovered too many examples of it to laugh off.

Scientists would be better off without science. That pesky self-correcting process inherent in real science, those inconvenient discoveries, play the devil with their theories.

Darwinists should take a hint from their colleagues in the “climate science” racket, and brand those who make such discoveries “deniers,” attack them in the media, lobby to cut off their funding, and loudly demand that “evolution denial” be made a crime.

Betcha they will.

P.S.–Any Creation scientist worth his salt would have predicted the eventual discovery of Triassic birds and flowers.
