A good old 19th-century hymn, sung by the Smucker Family: Immortal, Invisible God Only Wise. And it’s a beautiful day outside, so I want to get out and enjoy it.

The computer’s giving me fits this morning; that’s why I’m late.
But! We have a hymn request from Elder Mike: Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise. It’s taken from 1 Timothy 1: 17-20. Sung here by the Smucker Family.
No hymn requests–quite a bit more about that, a little later–so I posted the first one I found on the YouTube home page. I know I’ve posted it before, but who’s going to complain? Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise, sung by the Smucker Family.
No, I haven’t been to any nooze sites yet this morning. I know I’ll be disappointed there. And no likes, no comments, either.
So let’s post a hymn, shall we? Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise, sung by the Smucker Family… with background sets by God’s hand.
The other stuff can wait.
We have a hymn request from Phoebe–Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross, a classic hymn by Fanny Crosby, sung by the Smucker Family.
It crosses my mind just now, “How good this is!” I’ll have to write about that a little later.
We haven’t heard this hymn in a while, have we? Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross–a dear old classic by Fanny Crosby, sung here by the Smucker Family. Background sets by God the Father.
I wanted to post To Be a Pilgrim, but was afraid I’d worn out its welcome. Then this one popped into my head. Ah! Just right! Like a River Glorious, sung by the Smucker Family. Sets by God the Father: beauty the work of His hands.
I wrote this title down, just before I went to bed last night–Like a River Glorious, sung a capella by the Smucker Family. Oh, the background scenery! We used to have places like that around here. I miss them.
Like a River Glorious, sung in glorious harmony by The Smucker Family–what would you give, to put your boat upon that river? And I don’t know about you, but I find God’s handiwork, in the colors of the autumn leaves, as stirring as a song.
Well, the hymn contest is winding down, it’ll be closed on Aug. 8, only a few readers participate… I tried.
No entries this morning, so I’ll go with a favorite of my own: Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise, sung by the Smucker Family.
It’s not too late to join the rather small throng of contest entrants. A hymn request is a contest entry, and you can make it by leaving a comment anywhere on this blog. The hymn that gets the most views on the day it was requested is the winning hymn, and whoever requested it gets a prize.
So far the leading hymn has a mere 21 votes.
I’d love to hear from some of you who’ve never entered!
