‘The Wexford Carol’

Voice and cello, Alison Krauss and Yo-Yo Ma–a wonderful treatment of the Wexford Carol. And with bagpipes, too! I love the combination.

Let’s keep our Christmas going!

‘The Wexford Carol’

It’s taken me almost an hour to post this carol, so, year, I’m still sick–everything is moving in slow motion. I have a lot of lost sleep to catch up on.

The Wexford Carol features Alison Krauss, Yo-Yo Ma on his cello, and support from a bagpiper, a drummer–together they create a haunting Christmas carol, and a beautiful sound you surely haven’t heard before.

And now for a bit of breakfast.

‘The Wexford Carol’

Happy New Year, everybody!

It’s still the Christmas season here, so enjoy The Wexford Carol–Alison Krauss singing, Yo-Yo Ma on cello, plus bagpipes. Haunting.

‘The Wexford Carol’

Here’s another one we almost missed–but not quite! The Wexford Carol goes all the way back to 12th-century Ireland, hence the bagpipes in the background. This beautiful version is performed by Alison Krauss and the legendary Yo-Yo Ma on cello.

Hey, everybody, it’s Christmas Eve! Let’s finish our Carol Contest with a flash! Tomorrow’s Christmas, and we want to make the earth and the sky shiver with Christmas music.

For Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.

Hymn, ‘The Wexford Carol’

My editor, Susan, suggested this one. I’d never heard of it.

But wow! This is gorgeous. The combination of an angelic singing voice (Alison Krauss), cello (Yo-Yo Ma), and bagpipes?–yes, bagpipes–is as beautiful as it is unexpected.
