‘Yield Not to Temptation’

I feel emotionally strung out this morning, and found it very hard to select a hymn. I’m also finding it hard to pray, so please pray for me.

Anyhow, here’s a Sunday school favorite, sung by Nathan and Lyle–Yield Not to Temptation. I wanted a hymn that wouldn’t make me cry; but this one did, after all.

  1. Dickens always referred to tears as the release of an overcharged heart. Offer your tears as your prayer. Meanwhile we’re all praying for you.

I may not be around much today. Many errands to run and then a wake to go to at a funeral home.

    1. I used to say tears were a tribute to the loved one who has died, and not to be withheld.
I’ve actually felt vaguely afraid to pray, these last couple days–like, what else will happen? There’s almost nothing left of my family.

Thank you for your prayers, Phoebe.
