‘Yield Not to Temptation’

Both our computers have been on strike this morning, up till just now–so fingers crossed, and here we go.

We sang this hymn in Sunday school–Yield Not to Temptation. (I can close my eyes and see Mrs. Raleigh at the piano.)

Maybe play a little horseshoes in the afternoon.

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

Our Lord Jesus Christ must be carrying me through this soul-trying time: I sure ain’t carryin’ myself.

Sing here by Calvary Free Presbyterian Church in Northern Ireland, Yield Not to Temptation was one of my favorite hymns in Sunday school and I’m still loving it today. Maybe because I need it so much more, these days.

I hope can remember how to post it.

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

Here’s a hymn from the Garden State Baptist Church in Old Bridge, just down the road from me–Yield Not to Temptation, by Horatio Palmer. How often we sang this in Sunday school!

I pray Our Lord Jesus Christ will carry me over the finish line.

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

This was one of our Sunday school favorites: Yield Not to Temptation, written by Horatio Palmer in 1868. I’ve played it many times on my harmonica. Sung here by Phillip Carter.

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

I don’t know who’s singing this, but I do know that I need to hear it. I need some carrying today, Lord–all that doctoring scheduled for this afternoon.

So here it is, a Sunday school favorite: Yield Not to Temptation.

Bonus Hymn: ‘Yield Not to Temptation’

I suppose I ought to post more news about the attempted murder of President Donald Trump. But this hymn has been in my head all day, and I think the Holy Spirit wants me to share it with you–Yield Not to Temptation: an old Sunday school favorite, sung here by Nathan and Lyle.

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

First hymn to pop into my mind this morning, no requests forthcoming–an old Sunday school favorite, Yield Not to Temptation. Sung by Nathan and Lyle, and also known as Look Ever to Jesus.

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

How about a good old 19th century gospel song? Yield Not to Temptation, played by Nathan and Lyle on mandolin and guitar… coming to us from Denton County, Texas.

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

It’s been too long since I’ve posted this wonderful old Sunday school favorite. Yield Not to Temptation, sung by Nathan (mandolin) and Lyle (guitar), somewhere in Denton County, Texas. And if you don’t have a music studio, your living room will do just fine.

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

I don’t know how many times we sang this hymn in Sunday school. It seemed to be one of everybody’s favorites.

Yield Not to Temptation, a classic hymn, performed here by Nathan and Lyle… deep in the heart of Texas.
