‘Yield Not to Temptation’

First hymn to pop into my mind this morning, no requests forthcoming–an old Sunday school favorite, Yield Not to Temptation. Sung by Nathan and Lyle, and also known as Look Ever to Jesus.

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

How about a good old 19th century gospel song? Yield Not to Temptation, played by Nathan and Lyle on mandolin and guitar… coming to us from Denton County, Texas.

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

It’s been too long since I’ve posted this wonderful old Sunday school favorite. Yield Not to Temptation, sung by Nathan (mandolin) and Lyle (guitar), somewhere in Denton County, Texas. And if you don’t have a music studio, your living room will do just fine.

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

I don’t know how many times we sang this hymn in Sunday school. It seemed to be one of everybody’s favorites.

Yield Not to Temptation, a classic hymn, performed here by Nathan and Lyle… deep in the heart of Texas.

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

I feel emotionally strung out this morning, and found it very hard to select a hymn. I’m also finding it hard to pray, so please pray for me.

Anyhow, here’s a Sunday school favorite, sung by Nathan and Lyle–Yield Not to Temptation. I wanted a hymn that wouldn’t make me cry; but this one did, after all.

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

You don’t need to be in church, you don’t need a studio or microphones. to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Your living room will do.

No hymn requests this morning, so I’m on my own–with Nathan and Lyle and an old Sunday school favorite, Yield Not to Temptation (published 1868).

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

I have to rush out and buy the week’s groceries, etc.; but first, this hymn was on my mind when I woke up today, I feel I ought to post it–an old Sunday school favorite, Yield Not to Temptation (published in 1868). Nathan (mandolin) and Lyle (guitar)–yes, I love the way they do this hymn.

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

A classic 19th century hymn by Horatio Palmer, Yield Not to Temptation–and this video comes from the Garden State Baptist Church, just a few miles down the road from me, in Old Bridge.

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

You’ll pardon me, I hope, if I plug in one of my favorite hymns now and then. This one was in my mind for most of yesterday, Yield Not to Temptation, a 19th-century classic by Horatio Palmer, sung here by Nathan and Lyle.

I don’t have many of Your Favorite Hymns left in the cart, so if you have one to share with us, step right up.

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

We haven’t posted this in a while: an old Sunday school favorite since 1868, Yield Not to Temptation, performed by Nathan and Lyle. We never would’ve thought of adding a mandolin.
