By Request, ‘All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name’

Singing it like they mean it! Requested by Erlene, led by Bishop Clarence McClendon: All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name.

This brings me back to Sunday school. We loved to sing this hymn.

By Request, ‘Is There a Mountain’

We’re always looking to post hymns requested by readers–any and all hymns.

This one was requested by Erlene: Is There a Mountain, by Carroll Roberson.

Let’s share, shall we?

By Request, ‘Hidden by the Cross’

Requested by Erlene, sung by Carroll Roberson–Hidden by the Cross.

Take shelter in the Cross of Jesus Christ Our Lord. The Devil will not dare to come in after you.

By Request, ‘I Surrender All’

We have a hymn request from Erlene–I Surrender All, by Carroll Roberson.

Yo, ho, the hymn shop is open all day and all night to your requests. All you’ve got to do is ask.

‘Be Still, My Soul’

No hymn requests today, yet; but I’ve found a winner for us.

Be Still, My Soul: adapted from Finlandia by Jan Sibelius; performed by the Mount Royal Kantorei; background sets by God the Father.

‘Onward, Christian Soldiers’

Sung with sock by the choir at First Methodist Church, Houston: Onward, Christian Soldiers, the ungodly’s least favorite hymn. Turn up the volume–drown out some of that sludge we have to wade through every day.

‘Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus’

Here’s an old Sunday school favorite–Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus, sung by Fountainview Academy students on tour in Europe. It’s been a long time since I’ve heard this one!

By Request, ‘He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands’

Requested by Thewhiterabbit, He’s Got the Whole World In His Hands. I chose the 1958 version by Laurie London, because that’s the one I remember. It was very popular when I was a boy. In fact, we used to sing it in grade school… if you can believe it.

By Request, ‘It Took a Miracle’

Requested by Erlene: It Took a Miracle, by Carroll Roberson, sung by Donna Roberson. I couldn’t resist the seacoast video from Florida–work of God’s hands. (It’s still raining up here in Jersey.)

‘He Hideth My Soul’

No one has made a hymn request today, so I’m on my own again.

He Hideth My Soul, by Fanny Crosby, performed in the living room by Nathan and Lyle and some of their friends in Denton County, Texas: first one that popped into my head today.
