Computer Hell, Day 4

Is My Most Important Career Choice My Husband? - 20-Nothings

The chaotic hopeless mess this blog is turning into is now, after four days of trying to fix it, a bigger disaster than ever.

Comments un-approve themselves over and over again, no matter how many times I approve them.

Comments float around on my stats page but do not appear on the posts to which they ought to be attached.

Regular users are blocked, or can’t see their comments anywhere (let alone replies to their comments).

And most of what I get from the WordPress engineers is a lot of tech-talk, not a word of which I understand, they might as well be speaking Martian, and a lot of we-can’t-do-that talk.

No, I don’t know why your comments don’t appear!

I work to fix this mess every day and get freakin’ nowhere. Is this how our peaceful, harmless little blog community comes crashing to an end?

Oh,fap! Heaven know where this post will wind up.

Uh… Where’s My Search Bar?

You wouldn’t believe what I had to go through to post this image. Don’t even ask.

I have a stats page now, which I can gain access to by using Google Chrome instead of Mozilla Firefox… only now there ain’t no search bar, so how am I going to find and plug in images to go with the post? The search bar seems to have vanished altogether. Like maybe it got dragged under the vicar’s backyard wading pool…

Lord, give me strength!

So we settled down to watch a movie last night, and the computer died. Just up and died As in kicked the bucket, went kablooey, adios muchacho. And I am trying to type on this horrid laptop which gets every other word wrong and was clearly designed by demons. It requires me to hold my arms in a tiring and completely unnatural position. Please pray for my sanity.

I have to compose a Newswithviews column on this keyboard. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA….!

I wonder what asylum I’ll wind up in.

I hadn’t even gotten my pants on this morning when my wife announced we were back in Computer Hell. This time it was the email: no one gets in, no one gets out. The experts wrestled with it for three hours before admitting they were stymied, no can do, wait till tomorrow and someone else will try…

Gee, it’s hard to edit the stuff they pay you to edit when you can’t get it out of the email.

Ooh, look at this! Windows wants to do an update. Right now!

And they want to merge human minds–if they can find any–with computers.
