Cat and Iguana Are Friends

This doesn’t happen often, but it’s not unheard-of, either. My iguana used to cuddle with his two best buds, a big black cat and a feisty little schnauzer: the three of them in a heap on my bed, on a cold winter’s day.

This is an old iguana who’s been brought up properly and with affection, so he appears to enjoy the cat’s company. The cat’s well-behaved, too, but still a little shy. The two will grow closer, with time.

In a loving household, that’s what happens.

‘Pet Me Now!’

First they don’t want you to kiss them; then they demand to be petted and won’t allow you to do anything else. Cats are good at keeping humans on their toes.

I made the mistake of teaching Buster, when he was just a little kitten, to hop up on my back. Somehow he got the idea that everyone wanted him to do that, not just me. And by then he weighed over 15 pounds… with claws. He caused us some tense moments when company came over.

The Cats’ No Kissing Zone

I’m happy to say my cats enjoy being kissed. They might as well: it isn’t going to stop. And we make sure they get a lot of practice. But the cats in this video don’t like it at all, and have several ways to tell you son. Note how carefully they avoid hurting the tomfool humans who don’t get the message.

Why Cats Have Nine Lives

Why do cats have nine lives?

After watching this video, the answer will be crystal-clear to you: because they need ’em!

Really, seeing how some of these maneuvers essayed by cats turn out, you might wonder if nine lives is enough.

Don’t You Wish You Could Do This?

I mean, heck, I tried running in and out of my living room closet at top speed, but all I accomplished was to knock over a bagful of Christmas ornaments, trip over my wife’s shoes, and wear myself out. I’m just not cut out to be a cat.

So here, watch the experts do it.

Cat and Bunny Turf War

Enough with the news already, let’s have some sanity around here.

You probably don’t have this big a grass pile in your yard. But if you did, such a thing makes a highly desirable cat playground, as the cat in this video is busy demonstrating.

But note the bunny creeping up in the background, closer and closer. Will he muscle in on the cat’s territory? Play the video and see.

Now For Some Real Athletes! (Cats)

For feats of grace and style that make the best human efforts look downright feeble, you need look no farther than cats. Not only do you not have to pay them to appear on your ping-pong table: they enjoy it.

My family had a ping-pong table. Too bad we didn’t have a cat to go with it!

A Cat’s Most Embarrassing Moment

Imagine the shame of getting caught drinking water out of the toilet (unless you live under socialism, and everyone winds up doing it). Follow the poor little guy as he tries to duck the pararazzi, and study the subtle expressions of the feline face. As an added bonus, you’ll get to listen to In the Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg… which in fact has nothing to do with cats, but there it is.

Extra-long, Extra-cute Kittens & Puppies

I hardly ever post videos this long; but if you’ve got ten minutes to invest in funny, sanity-inducing frolics by puppies and kittens, this one’s for you. Make believe it’s two regular-sized videos played back-to-back. And don’t miss what happens when a boxful of sleeping kittens all wake up at once.

Cat Minds the Baby

What do you do when the baby gets antsy and looks like he might any moment erupt? Search me. But some babies apparently can be left to… the cat. Somehow the cat knows what to do. This won’t work with a large frog, but some cats are really good at minding a baby. My mother probably missed a bet by not having a cat for her babies.
