Sanity Break: Guilty Cats

I feel the need for a cat break.

Here are cats that show every sign of being upset when they’ve been caught doing a no-no. Watching the one cat shred the roll of toilet paper, I wonder whether Mt. Vesuvius has been unjustly blamed for the destruction of Pompeii. Maybe it was cats.

More Funny Cats–Hooray!

Once again we turn to our cats for a dose of sanity.

This red cat in the sink reminds me of our cat, Buster–who once managed to turn a pair of my wife’s panties into a kind of toga, and then posted himself in the living room window for everyone to see.

I must admit he never balanced a Q-tip on his nose, though.

Large Cats in Small Places

I hope you won’t mind if I indulge in another cat video. I have my reasons.

My cats do this all the time, trying to squeeze into tiny spaces.

Reminds me of the time I crawled inside a cement mixer. But I was only a wee lad then. I know better know.

Easter Morning Treat: Cats with Kittens

And now–why not?–a bit of God’s stuff that really works: cats playing with their kittens.

I love it when kittens run sideways. It’s like when they suddenly discover they can make their tails all puffy, and they run around doing it for no reason.

Only God would have thought of including cats and kittens in His creation.

Here’s What My Cats Did Not Do

I have posted this as an instructional video for my cats, Robbie and Peep, who totally ignore me when I’m sick. When Patty is sick, they can’t be pried from her side. When I’m hors de combat, it’s “Cats? What cats?”

Notice the cat solicitously licking the poor guy’s face until it breaks into a smile. All right, he seems to be only a little bit sick. So that makes it okay to ignore me when I’m a lot sick?

I hope they learn a lesson from this.

When Your Cat is Glad to See You

Who says cats don’t care? Who says they forget you?

Get a load of this one cat whose daddy has come home after a tour of military duty. Gee, if your country thought as much of you as your cat does, there’d be a lot of happy soldiers.

My cats, Robbie and Peep, were most impressed by the audio portion of this video.

Guilty Cat–Busted!

Usually our little friends are too clever to get caught doing something really naughty, like opening a drawer to take something out of it which we’ll never see again–not in one piece, at any rate.

Observe the guilty look on this cat’s face. It says it all.

Let Sleeping Cats Lie

Let’s take a break from discouraging news and observe some of the unusual ways cats have found of taking forty winks.

Our cat Peep has a habit of sleeping face-down. She and Robbie both have a penchant for trying to squeeze themselves into cardboard boxes that are much too small for them. Some of the postures affected by sleeping cats would lead you to believe they have no skeletons.

So enjoy the sleeping cats. There’s a lesson to be learned from them–and I wish I knew what it is.

Humor: Letting the Cat *into* the Bag

My cats can’t resist doing this to themselves, although they never, never seem pleased with the result.

I would say this cat had a purpose in walking around with a paper bag over his head, but I can’t imagine what it could have been.

Maybe he writes for Scholastic Books.
