There’s something about a pug dog trying to act ferocious that just cries out not to be taken seriously.
But when cats are mad at each other, they make some sounds that it’s hard not to take seriously.

This has got to be great for a baby’s development, don’t you think? I wouldn’t know, because we didn’t have a dog until I was in sixth grade.
Anyhow, these babies are totally digging the dogs, especially the dogs that chase soap bubbles.
It always amazes me, how certain dogs and cats seem to fully understand that a particular human being is only a baby and they’ve got to be nice.
The little dog diving into the pile of dead leaves reminds me of our family dog, Rags, way back when. He was crazy for piles of dead leaves.
One thing about dogs: they know how to play with just about anything. Even a door stop. You have to respect that!
Dogs would never succeed in politics. Look at them: they don’t know how to lie.
And it’s too bad, too, because they are endowed with one of the key ingredients indispensable to holding public office–the ability to know a thing is wrong, and then go ahead and do it anyway.
But dogs, at least, feel shame, rendering them wholly unsuitable for positions in any government.
Sorry, I couldn’t resist this. And it’s a lot more edifying than the news.
Nora the cat is famous for her piano-playing. Maybe someday Megan the little white dog will be famous, too.
I wonder if they could play a duet.
There’s all sorts of disgusting and outrageous news I could be reporting, but I think instead that I’ll just show you these good dogs getting all excited over what they see on television.
Yes–dogs know how to have fun. Do they ever!
Does your dog enjoy the sliding board? These dogs do. I have my doubts about cats enjoying this, but one may always make the experiment.
Anyhow, let’s relax our minds for a bit…
I feel like I ought to apologize for the loathsome and distressing news I posted here today. Believe me, I didn’t like it. I did it because I thought it was my duty.
So here, instead, is a cat who wants the dog to wake up and play with him, and a dog who is determined to stay asleep no matter what. Whose will is stronger? Watch the video, and find out.
I am bushed, I am knackered, I am plum played out–
But oh, boy, do dogs know how to have fun!
This video gave me a lift. May it give you one, too!
I get a kick out of these little dogs–just the kind of kick I need right now, after surveying (I started to type “surviving”) more of this day’s unedifying news that I couldn’t bear to write about.
God knew what he was doing when He gave us dogs and cats. They can help us keep our sanity.
