“Get woke, go broke” strikes again.

Back when I used to subscribe to Sports Illustrated, decades ago, there was a legend to the effect that, if a team or an athlete appeared on the cover of SI, that team or athlete was heading for a fall. The curse of Sports Illustrated.

Last week came the shocking announcement that the entire SI staff had been laid off, sacked, fired, goodbye.

It followed close on some editor’s decision to put a “transgender” athlete (man pretending to be woman) on the cover of the famous annual Swimsuit Issue.

So is the magazine kaput, washed up, finished? All because normal people are sick and tired of being forced to look at trannies. Does virtue signalling not work, when the “virtue” is a folly or a sin?

The curse of Sports Illustrated…don’t mess with it.

Anheuser-Busch loses $395 Million

I think they can probably forget about sponsoring the Stupor Bowl for a while.

Anheuser-Busch continues to pay for its folly of trying to become the Transgender Beer, with weirdo Dylan Mulvaney as its spokescreature (https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/08/get-woke-go-broke-anheuser-busch-loses-395/). Bud Light has lost $395 million in the second quarter, down a full 10% from last year’s sales.

No one seems interested in going back to Bud Light. Coors sales are up $47 million, though. Miller Lite’s doing pretty well, too.

But Anheuser-Busch has had to lay off several hundred workers. Too bad, folks–but the guilty party here, who has hurt you and your families, is not the general public but the corporate executives who tried to force Transgender down our throats. They listened to Far Left crazies who thought the whole country was ready to embrace Transgender. It wasn’t. God forbid it ever will be.

“Oft by one man’s will many must woe endure,” said an Anglo-Saxon poet, over a thousand years ago.

It’s still true, whether it’s just one man, one woman, or a whole gaggle of idiots.

The Far Left “newpaper,” The Washington Post, has lost some 500,000 subscribers in the course of a year, down 20% from the 3 million they had going into 2021 (https://www.breitbart.com/the-media/2022/12/14/nolte-far-left-washington-post-lost-500000-subscribers/). Advertising revenues are down 15%.

Layoffs are looming, the bosses say.

Still living on its laurels from “All the President’s Men” back in the 1970s, the Post is on the left side of every issue. It’s surprising that they’ve only lost a fifth of their subscribers. But if they keep on going the way they’re going, they’re sure to lose more.

The struggle of our time is populism vs. arbitrary rule by self-anointed experts and elites. One will win, the other will lose. It’s not given to every generation to have a clear picture of what their time in history is about.
