Kittens: They Do It with Mirrors

I never get tired of watching kittens getting goofy over mirrors. I had an anole once who’d go positively postal if he saw his reflection in a mirror; and I once saw a hamster get very grumpy about it. But kittens seem to be having fun.

It is said that clams are among the very few animals to recognize themselves in a mirror; but they don’t do anything about it.

Can You Count the Kittens?

Watching kittens at play has always been a tonic for me. But how many of them are there in this video? Five… or is it six… or seven?

The big white cat is their mother.

Oh, I miss our cats!

Kittens and… Shoes?

Does somebody have really big feet, or are these very small kittens? And is somebody shooting this whole video sideways, or have these kittens been raised by geckos, and acquired some really peculiar skills?

Kitten and Guinea Pig at Play

The kitten really wants the guinea pig to play with him, and he finally gets his wish. If only the hammy humans would stay out of the way, we might learn something.

I’ve never had a guinea pig, but the ones in a certain pet store were always up for petting and tickling. I’ll bet I’d fall in love with it, if I had one.

Some Energetic Cats & Kittens

I have just enough energy to watch this video and post it.

BTW, I learned something today. Your cats are never too old to “help” you install computer stuff.

Sanity Break: Extra Kittens

If I have to write one more word about that blasted election today, I will plotz.

Instead, here’s an early kitten video, just a few kittens playing–but lookit ’em go!

Yes, God’s stuff still works.

A Low-Tech Cat Toy

When all else fails to amuse your cat, you can always rely on a paper bag to do the trick.

Cats love for you to buy really expensive, fancy cat toys so they can make you feel like a right dicky-doo-dah when they play with paper bags or pipe cleaners instead.

They also like rolls of toilet paper. But you’ll be sorry if you allow that.

Sanity Break: Tumbly Kittens

I call these kittens tumbly because they do tend to tumble about: too young to have totally mastered, yet, the arts of walking, running, and jumping. Adult cats can be tumbly, too, but only on purpose, because they know you like it.

So enough of the news already! I am, like, totally ready for kittens, dude!

The ‘Gone With the Wind’ of Kitten Videos

All right, this one is a bit longer (7 min.) than the cat videos I usually post. But I’ve had a hard two days and watching kittens play relaxes me. Especially when I don’t have to clean up any mess they care to make.

Sanity Break: Kittens Up for Play

Now I wish I’d thought of taking a big cardboard box and cutting various enter and exit holes in it for my kittens, who are now large cats. They have their own favorite cardboard box, but I dassn’t do anything to change it.

So, while the whole Western world’s ruling class goes reeling blindly here and there, struck mad, let’s take a sanity break. With kittens.
