This post was inspired by the 2017 eclipse, which was seen all over North America by millions and millions of people and yet–and yet!–was denounced as a hoax. Perpetrated by whom, or to what purpose, was never made clear.
I don’t know how many people believe that very silly story. Enough to get noticed.
People have definitely gotten loopier. “Ooh, ooh! Let’s have Kamala for our president!” “You can change your gender day by day!” “Let’s all get electric cars so we can stop Climate Change!”
You could just scream.
So far it’s still impossible to stage a fake solar eclipse.
But people believe a lot of impossible things anymore.
