I’ve Got to Get This Book Re-Started!

The Wind from Heaven (Bell Mountain, 13) - Kindle edition by ...

Behold! isn’t the end of the Bell Mountain series; but COVID screwed things up, and there are another two books waiting to be published–and half a book waiting to be finished.

Oceans of Time–Kirk DouPonce is busy with the cover art, editors are busy with the text, and I hope and pray it comes out this year in time for Christmas.

Ozias, Prince in Peril–Now we’re going back 2,000 years in Obann’s history to tell the story of King Ozias, King Ryons’ ancestor, who wrote many of the Sacred Songs and was Obann’s last anointed king until Ryons came along. The book has been written, but I have no idea when it’ll be published.

The weather around here, this spring, has been cranky–and there sits Ozias, Prince Enthroned, only half-written, waiting to be finished. So what I have is a bunch of notebook pages outlining the rest of the story. Weather permitting, I would very much like to start writing it tomorrow!

What’s with all this stuff about the weather? Well, I write my books outdoors. It helps me visualize what I’m writing about. And the physical therapy sessions chew up a lot of my writing time. Obstacles! I had to write a Newswithviews column today, and go to the supermarket–so no Ozias today, and only four blog posts. As my mother used to say, that’s the way the cookie crumbles.

I hope I can find the bakery tomorrow.

Bonus Hymn, By Request: ‘He Is the God That Healeth Thee’

I am so tired! (Losing that “daylight savings” hour didn’t help!) We have a hymn requested by Erlene: I Am the God That Healeth Thee, by Don Moen.

I don’t seem to be accomplishing much today, but I press on. Susan is finishing up her editing of Bell Mountain No. 15, Oceans of Time. Gotta be ready to do my part–it’s almost showtime.

‘Reviews, Anyone?’ (2020)

Bell Mountain - (14 book series)

Every now and then it crosses my mind that one of this blog’s original functions was to call attention to my books and hopefully sell a few. Books without readers do no one any good.

Reviews, Anybody?

Reviews by readers are terribly important. Well, to the author they are!

Anyway, it’s been a couple of years since I’ve gotten any reader feedback. I would like to think that someone, in all that time, has dipped into Bell Mountain. Sometime in the not-too-distant future, Oceans of Time (No. 15 in the series) will be published, bringing King Ryons and his people to a natural resting-point. From there we’ll be going backward in time to King Ozias’ days.

Any thoughts, anybody?

Editing ‘Oceans of Time’

Ancient salamander was hidden inside mystery rock for 50 years – new research

With Patty’s surgery set for Friday, we find it just a little hard to concentrate, and find a need for something else to think about.

I look forward each day to editing Bell Mountain No. 15, Oceans of Time. No. 14, Behold!, flows very nicely into it. Editing can be a soothing way to pass the time. Not that you can count on that. There are editing assignments that can be quite hair-raising.

Anyway, after Oceans we’ll have the story of King Ozias in three books, the first of which has been written–Ozias, Prince in Peril. Ozias lived some 2,000 years before the events described in the first 15 books, so expect a lot of changes.

Uh… Why do we have this picture of a great big salamander with jaws that could take your hand off?

Well, now, haven’t you read any number of books that would have been significantly improved by the addition of a giant salamander? I know I have. But in this case the plot demands a giant salamander. You’ll see…
