I couldn’t let the Christmas season go without posting this lively performance of We Three Kings by Hugh Jackman, David Hodson, and Peter Cousen. Can these guys sing, or what!
The carol contest is over, but we’re still taking requests.

Ach! No entries yet today in our Christmas Carol Contest. I must provide a carol.
So here’s one to get the ball rolling: We Three Kings of Orient Are, sung by the Robert Shaw Chorale.
If you haven’t entered yet, now is as good a time as any. The contest closes Dec. 31.
We Three Kings, sung by Steven Curtis Chapman–I’d never heard this before. Requested by TheWhiteRabbit, it’s entered into our Second Annual Christmas Carol Contest.
You can enter as often as you like, and the prize will go to whoever suggests the carol that gets the most views on the day it was requested. We had a lot of fun with this last year!
Can these guys sing, or what?
Requested by Phoebe (it’s her birthday, after all), We Three Kings, sung by Hugh Jackman, David Hobson, and Peter Cousen, as part of an Australian TV Christmas special.
All right, Joshua, you talked me into it… This is my favorite rendition of We Three Kings, sung with gusto by actors Hugh Jackman, David Hobson, and Peter Cousen. I think this was originally part of an Australian TV Christmas special. My eyes tear up when I hear it–but those are tears of joy. What hath God wrought!
Requested by Joshua, We Three Kings, sung by Ernie Haase and Signature Sound. I have a favorite version of this carol, but I’ll wait a bit to see if someone else asks for it.
Keep those carols coming! This world needs Christmas!
Hey! It’s still the Christmas season, and we’ve still got some proclaiming to do.
This is the King’s College Choir, at Cambridge, singing We Three Kings–and oh, the voices of those soloists! Music gives glory to God who created us in His image, with the capacity to create beautiful things.
Proclaim! Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.
From The Little Drummer Boy, Guy Penrod segues right into We Three Kings: requested by Jeremy. We’re getting our carol contest back on track!
From Australian TV, a few years ago–Hugh Jackman, David Hobson, and Peter Cousen performing We Three Kings: and if this doesn’t pump you up for Christmas, I don’t know what will.
Hey! One thing we absolutely don’t have to worry about is running out of great Christmas music. And yet our first Christmas Carol Contest has slowed way down after just a week or so. The leading carol is still on top with just 25 views.
So many of you have never requested a hymn–so why not break the ice now?
How to win: If, say, on Dec. 14 you requested Gesu Bambino and it got 32 views that day, and no other hymn got that many on any other day, then you’d be the winner.
The prize is an autographed copy of one of my books. If you’ve already got them all, you can hold out for No. 11, The Temptation, which is just about ready to be published.
But we all win if we proclaim the birth of Jesus Christ Our Lord, and help this Christmas season draw the human heart to Him.
“Thewhiterabbit” has reminded us that today is Epiphany, the 12th Day of Christmas: and what could be more suitable to the occasion than We Three Kings?
Actually, the Bible (in Matthew Chapter 2) never calls them kings, but only “wise men from the East.” Then again, they bring gifts fit for a king, and not easily obtainable on a wise man’s salary–gold and frankincense, and myrrh. So maybe the tradition’s not far off the mark.
I love this rendition of the carol by Hugh Jackman, David Hodson, and Peter Cousen, from a Christmas special on Australian TV. They put their hearts into it, and it’s heartening to know that some of our entertainers, at least, love to praise the Lord Our God.
