By Request, ‘And Evening Prayer’

It’s not evening yet, but it’s never too early for a prayer.

Requested by Erlene, sung by Carroll Roberson: An Evening Prayer. And let’s send up a few prayers for Erlene, who’s in need of them of late. Well, we all can use them, can’t we?

‘He Hideth My Soul’

It feels like it’s been ages since I posted this hymn: He Hideth My Soul, by Fanny Crosby, sung by the Antrim Mennonite Choir. I can ask the Lord to protect me from the failings of that dadburned catheter.

‘Fairest Lord Jesus’

Requested by Thewhiterabbit: Fairest Lord Jesus. It’s also known as “Beautiful Savior.” And in our church’s hymnal, so long ago, it was “The Crusaders’ Hymn.”

‘Onward, Christian Soldiers’

We haven’t had this one for a while–Onward, Christian Soldiers performed by students at Fountainview Academy.

I’m going to try to rest today.

‘O, Worship the King’

It’s been a while since I posted this hymn–O Worship the King, sung the old-fashioned way by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band. This was one of the first hymns I learned by play on my harmonica.

John Bunyan’s Hymn (Plus Update on Me)

(Trying to pump up my courage…)

One of my favorite hymns: Who Would True Valor See, also known as He Who Would Valiant Be: written by John Bunyan (Pilgrim’s Progress) and performed here by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band–

UPDATE–We’re back from Dr. Swan’s, he gave me clearance (what does that mean?) for next week’s “procedure.” And then the next, and the next one after that… and I’d better calm down, I’m scaring myself.

I think I’d better have a cigar.

By Request, ‘I’ve Got Joy Down in My Heart’

I hope I picked the hymn that Thewhiterabbit had in mind: I’ve Got Joy Down in My Heart, sung by a bunch of kids. Things are pretty confused around here lately, so cut us a break.

‘Behold, the Mountain of the Lord’

I know, I know: I’ve posted this video many times: Behold, the Mountain of the Lord, sung by Godfrey Birtill. Over the years, it’s become one of my favorite hymns.

Maybe it can give me a sip of courage.

By Requests, ‘In God’s Green Pastures’

Let’s be happy today.

Requested by Phoebe: In God’s Green Acres (His Sheep I Am), and sung by Voice of Eden. (I love the sound of that harmonica!)

By Request, ‘I Speak Jesus’

This hymn will inspire you! Requested by Thewhiterabbit, sung by Charity Gayle: I Speak Jesus.

I wonder if that island up there is a real place. Looks like a good spot for Bible-reading.
