This is another hymn my mother and my grandma would sing as they went about their housework. I’m glad they did! It’s the kind of memory that stays with you and is always at hand when you need it.
Sung here by Alan Jackson: Sweet Hour of Prayer.

Wahoo! I’m gonna have breakfast! But first this:
Requested by Erlene, When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder, sung by Alan Jackson. This hymn always moves me, brings me close to tears. Sanity! Make a joyful noise unto the LORD.
I could use some grace, about now.
So this was the first hymn to come to mind this morning: Amazing Grace, sung here by Alan Jackson. I like it with bagpipes, but we can get by without them.
Sorry, folks, I overslept! I did ask the Lord to give me sleep; I guess He did.
Requested by Erlene, sung by Alan Jackson–Leaning on the Everlasting Arms. I need those arms to lean on. Do you?
We have a hymn request from Erlene: What a Friend We Have in Jesus, sung by Alan Jackson.
The colonoscopy looms, with a prep period that strikes me as fiendish, and I find it quite distracting. Still managed another three pages of my book today: Ozias, Prince Enthroned. I’ve never before encountered so many obstacles in writing a book. All I pray is that it’ll be over and done with and our household can return to normalcy. Normalcy is good!
Meanwhile, our Facebook page keeps showing us pictures of mostly naked women with oversized knockers. The picture disappears after a few seconds. I didn’t ask for this and don’t know where it came from. Have any of you had the same experience? I’ve also had unrequested changes imposed on my home page format. What’s WordPress up to?
At last, a hymn request! This one’s from Erlene–In the Garden, sung by Alan Jackson.
I try to post all hymns requested by readers, but there’s been a dry spell lately. If you’ve got a hymn you’d like to share, just let me know.
It’s a short hymn, but a sweet one–and it says what needs to be said.
Requested by Erlene, sung by Alan Jackson: Standing on the Promises.
We have a hymn request from Erlene: Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus, sung by Alan Jackson.
I may not be able to carry out my work, these next few days. Please pray for us–Patty, Robbie, and me.
Requested by Thewhiterabbit–I hope I’ve found the hymn he had in mind: Power in the Blood, performed by Alan Jackson.
I have to hustle this morning: more physical therapy. I pray it works.
How about another hymn? Requested by Erlene–Standing on the Promises of God, sung by Alan Jackson. Short, but very sweet.
And now let’s sit back and enjoy the weekend. (No more physical therapy till Monday!)
