Video Treat: Non-Musical Cat

Don’t you just love the subtle way cats operate? He wants you to stop playing the piano and pay attention to him instead. Does he walk up and bite your ankle? Heck, no. Much, much more fun to quietly interfere until whatever you’re trying to do becomes impossible. Our cats like to flop themselves down on top of jigsaw puzzles while we’re trying to do them. And you know what any cat does if he thinks this is not a good time for you to be reading a book.

New Feature: I’ll post reader-suggested videos, if you want to send some in. Bear in mind my want of technological know-how. Join in the fun! We can all use a daily break from watching our whole civilization go down the tube.

Sanity Break: Kittens Up for Play

Now I wish I’d thought of taking a big cardboard box and cutting various enter and exit holes in it for my kittens, who are now large cats. They have their own favorite cardboard box, but I dassn’t do anything to change it.

So, while the whole Western world’s ruling class goes reeling blindly here and there, struck mad, let’s take a sanity break. With kittens.

Cats Undercover

Oops, I should’ve said “under covers.”

Anyway, after all the hurly-burly, here’s a nice, soothing video, courtesy of a cat. It ain’t just dogs and bunnies who know how to have fun.

Video Treat: Puppies and Cats

In almost all these clips, it’s the puppy who wants to play and the cat isn’t buying it. Maybe cats have heard bad things about dogs. But it is fun when they finally get together, which is more than you can say for some of us.

Time Out for Kittens

I can’t help it–I love kittens. Grown-up cats, too. If you don’t fall in love with the kitten hiding in the Kleenex box, well, I don’t know what can be done for you.

Have I told you that I once almost got my iguana into a dog food commercial? Unfortunately, I fell asleep and missed the audition. So stardom eluded him, and it was all my fault. I never told him, though.

Video Treat: A Very Naughty Cat

Here is a cat being very, very, very naughty. I mean, really–prying open the freezer and absconding with the fish filets: what’s next?

Among the questions left unanswered by this video is one that gives me the willies: where did the cat wind up stashing that nice big piece of fish? Imagine if he hid it under the sofa…

Cat Takes TV Too Seriously

See, what’d we tell ya? Too much TV can mess up your sense of reality.

This poor cat! She’s watching kittens on TV and suddenly the screen goes blank. Where did they go?? Behind the screen? Under it? Over on this side, or over on that side? Next thing you know, she’ll be squeezing the Charmin.

Sanity Break: Playful Cat, Sleepy Dog

I feel like I ought to apologize for the loathsome and distressing news I posted here today. Believe me, I didn’t like it. I did it because I thought it was my duty.

So here, instead, is a cat who wants the dog to wake up and play with him, and a dog who is determined to stay asleep no matter what. Whose will is stronger? Watch the video, and find out.

Resourceful Cats and Dogs

Remote-controlled toys–you’d think cats and dogs would really like them. Well, some do and some don’t. But I think you’ll see that most of these cats and dogs react to a new and unfamiliar situation with firmness and resolve.

Dedicated to My Wife, the Cat’s Meow

This computer went mad this afternoon. I mean, it was so wacked-out, I don’t even know how to tell you what was wrong with it. Mostly everything–pages too big, too small, displaying sideways, all sorts of weird symbols on display, looking like those hieroglyphs from Roswell…

Patty fixed it.

Sure, it took a while, and produced a lot of stress; but she fixed it. I’ve said before, she’s the smartest person I know.

So these cats are for her, because she is the cat’s meow. And I hope that you all enjoy them, too.
