By Request, ‘Do You Know My Jesus?’

I don’t think I’ve ever heard this hymn before–Do You Know My Jesus? Requested by Phoebe, sung by a quartet of students at Fountainview Academy. (I do find it hard to resist that British Columbia scenery!)

‘Under His Wings’

Wow! Is this a nice hymn, or what? Under His Wings, sung a capella at the West Kenya Union Cathedral, by Breath of Praise.

‘The 23rd Psalm’

For how many of us is the 23rd Psalm the first Bible passage we learn by heart?

Here it is being sung by the choir of Wells Cathedral, England. Very nice, isn’t it?

By Request, ‘The Church in the Wildwood’

I really do need to find a shady spot where I can sit down and rest! But first, this hymn requested by Erlene: The Church in the Wildwood, presented and performed by the Gaither Group.

‘Jesus Loves Me’

This was the first hymn I ever learned, Jesus Loves Me.

The sunlit path through the woodland, the sheep feeding on it…

If you could only find that path! It might lead straight to Jesus. The Shepherd won’t be too far from His sheep.

‘I Need Thee Every Hour’

This is another hymn my mother and my aunts used to sing as they went about their housework: I Need Thee Every Hour, sung by Fernando Ortega.

Lord, need thee every hour and that’s no lie!

‘The Son of God Goes Forth to War’

Computer problems are eating me up this morning, but at last I’ve succeeded in posting a hymn: The Son of God Goes Forth to War, sung by Joe Stout.

Now if I can make up some lost time…

‘Onward, Christian Soldiers’

I’ve got physical therapy this morning. I could use some spiritual therapy.

Meanwhile, here’s a hymn for you: Onward, Christian Soldiers, performed by the students at Fountain View Academy. And it looks like they’ve just opened the door to autumn…

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

I don’t know who’s singing this, but I do know that I need to hear it. I need some carrying today, Lord–all that doctoring scheduled for this afternoon.

So here it is, a Sunday school favorite: Yield Not to Temptation.

‘Jesus Shall Reign Where’er the Sun’

A lot of wonderful hymn singing came out of the United Reformed Church’s Synold 2012, held at Nyack, New York, in the Hudson River valley. Here we have Jesus Shall Reign Where’ere the Sun.
