This Stupid Story Has Everything!

World ends; women, minorities hardest hit — Christopher Fountain

It used to be a joke. Now it’s a reality.

Early this morning I wondered what we’d think if we saw a corny old joke acted out in real life. Well, here’s a corny old joke acted out in real life… by the government.

There’s an old joke by Mort Sahl that goes, “New York Times Headline, World Ends: Women and Minorities Hardest Hit.

It seems to have been the inspiration for the creation of a brand-new government bureaucracy, another bottomless pit into which to fling tax dollars: [raspberry fanfare] The Office of Environmental Justice! Hot dog. Part of Health & Human Services. Part of an executive order by senile SloJo himself. (*Note: This not to be confused with the Disinformation Governance Board. One is nonsense and the other is bilge.)

Best of all, informed by a 2007 study on “environmental racism” (what?) commissioned by none other than that high temple of Far Left crazyness, the UCC, United Church of Christ. Pioneers of gay-womanist-Bible-aint-God’s-word theology.

Oh! And that guy who calls himself “Rachel,” the fat guy with the wig and nail polish–he’s gonna be involved in this, too. Maybe as the mascot.

Yes! Climbit Chains disproportionately drops its load on “the poor,” and “marginalized” (by whom?), and–of course–People Of Color (POCs)! The bigwigs at the new bureaucracy have already hailed Ol’ SloJo as the perpetrator of “the most ambitious Environmental Justice agenda in history.” Well, yeah, it sure does put Julius Caesar’s environmental justice agenda in the shade.

Have we left out any left-wing blather? Any Far Left cliches this story doesn’t touch on? I think this story might be in line for an award. Most Thorough-going Piece of Shagwah Ever. Or at least for 2022.

Plant Babble, Grow Poppycock

Plant Equity, Grow Love" Greeting Card by HilltopHearth | Redbubble

[Thanks to Susan for roping me in with this nooze tip.]

“Equity” is the hot buzzword among libs, these days. The word used to mean “the quality of being fair or impartial.” The last impartial liberal died in the Devonian Period. As for fairness–! Do you really need to ask?

“Equity” has become so flexible in its use that it no longer has any meaning. It just sounds nice. It sounds like one of those things you don’t dare be against.

Now you can buy a hip, with-it greeting card that says “Plant Equity, Grow Love” (https://www.redbubble.com/i/greeting-card/Plant-Equity-Grow-Love-by-HilltopHearth/63179394.5MT14). That would be a lovely sentiment if we could ever decipher what it means. You know what happens to words when leftids get their hands on them. Look what they’ve done to “justice.” And “love.”

Speaking of justice, we are told this greeting card is an ideal way to trumpet your “commitment to environmental justice and the power of plants.” [Where are the barf bags?] How is “environmental justice” different from just plain “justice”? And what is the power of plants? Power to do what?

Personally, I would love to be able to plant equity and grow love.

I just wouldn’t buy my seeds from such profoundly dishonest people.

“Social justice.” “Environmental justice.” Baloney justice. It seems there’s a distinct brand of justice for every left-wing interest group.

But in reality (and therefor foreign ground to liberals), there’s only one kind of “justice.” Polish thinker Janusz Korwin-Mikke makes short work of all the others.

Polish Thinker Kayos ‘Social Justice’

He could have written a book, but he got the mission accomplished in a single paragraph. And not a very long one, either!

Portland: More ‘Camping Space’ for the Homeless?

See the source image

Some of Portland, Oregon’s, ruling loons want the city to compel private property owners to provide “more camping space” for homeless people (https://www.wweek.com/news/city/2019/12/04/an-influential-city-panel-wants-new-private-buildings-to-provide-space-for-homeless-camping/). Like, if you want to build some stores, or an apartment complex, make sure you leave room for homeless persons to pitch tents and sleep on the sidewalk.

It’s so much fun to virtue-signal with other people’s stuff!

Institutionalizing homelessness and making it a permanent feature of the city is the brainstorm of a few jidrools on Portland’s Planning and Sustainability Commission. The whole commission was unanimously for it, at first–until the public found out about it and let out a scream of protest. Now it’s possible the scheme won’t make it as far as the city council.

Leading the charge in favor of the scheme is a woman who is also the “director of climate and energy policy” at Verde, “a Northeast Portland environmental justice nonprofit.” What the blazes is “environmental justice”?

Well, the city could build more homeless shelters; but the problem with that is, some of these poor people are homeless because they’re mentally ill, and a lot of them refuse to use the shelters. Or virtue-signalling Environmental Justice Warriors could volunteer to take homeless persons into their own homes instead of volunteering someone else’s space: but don’t hold your breath waiting for that to happen. Finally, they could replace all those psychiatric hospitals that liberals so recklessly shut down some years ago; but don’t expect that to happen, either.

Someone ought to do a study comparing the incidence of homelessness in cities governed by Democrats to that of cities not run by Democrats (if you can find any). Prediction: The more entrenched and dominant the Democrats, the greater the incidence of homelessness.

Go ahead, somebody–prove me wrong. I dare you to try.
