A Man and a Mouse

Unknowable sent us this video of a man who adopted a baby mouse, and I had to share it with you.

Mice are wonderful pets. I had a mouse named Mommy once. She used to groom my mustache and beard. She had nine babies, and surprised me by dividing them into three groups of three, in three nests, so she could keep track of who’d been fed and groomed and who hadn’t.

I’ve had many pet mice, and they were all as good as gold. Thanks, Mark!

‘Companionable Mice’ (2019)

Have any of you had mice for pets? Honk if you’re put off by the very idea.

But I’m here to tell you… mice are nice.

Companionable Mice

How something as tiny as a mouse can form an affectionate bond with something as big as a human being is worth pondering.

Companionable Mice

I once had a mouse who used to stand up on my palm and groom my mustache. I guess she liked it to look a certain way. When she had nine babies, she divided them into three groups of three and nursed them in turn. I know humans who couldn’t have thought of that.

Anyhow, mice make nice pets, intelligent and affectionate. The only down side is, they don’t live very long. If they did, the world would be overrun with mice and we humans would be their servants. Frightening to think of what a mouse could learn if it lived for 20 years.

Sanity Medicine: Snuggly Bunnies

Ibis Hotels came up with this snuggly bunny TV ad. After all the kerfluffle this morning, I thought this might relax me. I hope you enjoy it!

I’m crazy about bunnies and have always wished I might have one, but it has never come to pass. I wouldn’t want my mice saying, “So what are we–chopped liver?” But love is a renewable resource, isn’t it?
