‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’

No one has asked for this yet, but I wouldn’t want it to be passed over–O Little Town of Bethlehem, sung by Nat King Cole.

And I think a lot of the Christmas cards that illustrate the song were painted by Thomas Kinkade.

By Request, ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’

Here’s a contest entry from Erlene–O Little Town of Bethlehem, by the Gaither Vocal Band. (The Vocal Bank is another story!)

Hey, we’re doing Christmas cheer all day! Come on in! And tell your friends about it.

No nooze here today–we follow the example of Judah the Maccabee, who didn’t lead his army forth on the Sabbath unless he absolutely had to.

By Request, ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’

We’ve got two Christmas Carol Contest entries to start the day. This one’s from Phoebe: Nat King Cole sings O Little Town of Bethlehem… and I’ll bet those are Thomas Kincaid paintings in the background.

‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’ (Burl Ives)

It wasn’t easy to post this hymn. The computer kept giving me “Holly Jolly Christmas” instead. That has now vanished somewhere into cyberspace, and here is Burl Ives, O Little Town of Bethlehem.

Thank you for your prayers, everybody. I should be back to normal sometime this afternoon.

By Request, ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’

Requested by TheWhiteRabbit, sung by the Yoder Family–O Little Town of Bethlehem.

I haven’t yet looked at any nooze today. So much better to get the Good News of the gospel first.

‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’

I’m surprised no one has asked for this yet–O Little Town of Bethlehem. And who better to sing it than Nat King Cole, with the voice of an angel?

‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’ (With Totally Different Melody)

I’ve never heard O Little Town of Bethlehem sung to this melody before. The thing that’s going to bug me all day is, I know I’ve heard that melody with another set of lyrics, another hymn–but I can’t remember its name. Well, one of you out there must be a more knowledgeable hymnologist than I am. Hoping to hear from you!

P.S.–While I was pondering this, Patty discovered that this is a folk melody called “Forest Green,” which the composer Vaughan Williams adapted to O Little Town of Bethlehem.

Elvis: ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’

I’ve figured out what my problem is. There are more Christmas carols than I have readers to request them. Meanwhile, “thewhiterabbit” has asked for O Little Town of Bethlehem. I hope nobody minds my opting for Elvis Presley as the singer. I pay no attention to his rock and roll. But oh, what a voice! And, by all accounts, a man who loved the Lord and didn’t mind using his God-given voice to praise Him.

Beautiful! Nat King Cole, ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’

If this doesn’t make your eyes fill up, you’d better get your fluids checked: you might be running low.

O Little Town of Bethlehem, sung by the immortal Nat King Cole–and unless I miss my guess, the art is by Thomas Kincaid.

Tchaaa! WordPress got me again! Automatically disabled the comments. Grrrr!

‘O, Little Town of Bethlehem’ (with Nat King Cole)

Come on, now–does this not stir your soul? The birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior, and the voice of Nat King Cole: O, Little Town of Bethlehem.

Well, here I am, all ready to post whatever Christmas music that anybody asks for. All I need is some requests!
