Prayer Request: Linda

One of Linda’s friends is bogged down, spiritually, and confused by what she has been taught in our public education system, and by our popular culture as a whole. There must be millions like her.

Father, please open this young woman’s eyes and give her understanding. It’s very hard to find one’s way sometimes, in this evil and confusing age. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Request: Erlene

Erlene has two friends who need our prayers: Marvin, who was badly injured recently in a fall, and Jerry, a military veteran who is ill in body and in spirit.

Father in Heaven, please bless these two men, for Jesus’ sake, and give them deliverance out of their troubles. In Jesus’ name, amen. And please let them know that help is on the way.

Reminder: We Take Hymn and Prayer Requests

Anybody new here? Well, in case there is, I’d like to remind the audience that this blog posts hymn and prayer requests. So if you have a favorite hymn that you’d like to share with other readers, or if you feel the need for others to be praying with you, we are here to serve.

How?

Easy as pie. Just place your request in the form of a comment after any post on this blog, and I’ll be sure to see it. We’ll take it from there.

Prayer Request: Lisa

Please, everybody, pray for Lisa, whose husband is having oral surgery today, and whose friend, Martha, woke up blind, one day last week, and has so far received no word of hope that she might somehow recover her sight.

Lord, please bless these, our brothers and sisters in Christ. Please keep Lisa’s husband safe, and deliver Martha out of darkness. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Lisa, my wife’s father suddenly lost his sight–and permanently–while he was driving a car!  One of his passengers had to steer them to safety. He never got his sight back, but he got a daughter and a son to comfort him, and his own business to support his family.

Without the Lord’s protection, none of us would last a moment.

Prayer Request: Joyce

Our friend Joyce has been diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes, and is in need of our prayers.

Joyce, take heart! Cataract surgery these days is little short of amazing. It can be done right there in the doctor’s office, quickly, and you walk out with your eye working just fine. My wife has had the surgery in both eyes, and the only hard thing about it was remembering to follow the schedule for the eye-drops afterward.

Father in heaven, please bless our sister, Joyce, and restore the sight of her eyes, as Our Lord Jesus Christ did so many times during His earthly ministry. And please allay her understandable fears. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Note: Whether He does it spontaneously or through physicians, all healing comes from God. We know that and give thanks for it.

Aunt Joan Has Recovered

Just got a call from the hospital: they are discharging my aunt tonight, sending her back to the nursing home, because she has, for all practical purposes, recovered.

Thank you all for your prayers. I’ll tell you more about it tomorrow.

Reader’s Prayer Request

Please send up a prayer for Erlene, who had two teeth pulled the other day, one of which was abscessed, and is hurting from it. We all know how that feels, and wish we didn’t. Please, Father, grant her relief: in Jesus’s name, amen.

Remember–We Post Prayer and Hymn Requests

Just a friendly reminder that if there’s a favorite hymn you’d like to see posted on this blog, so you can share it with others, all you’ve gotta do is ask. Just post your request as a comment, and I’ll do the rest.

And, as a new feature, we will also post your prayer requests–because, after all, it’s beneficial to have others praying for you and with you. Again, post your request as a comment, that’s all you have to do.

Reader Prayer Request

From Terry: “Wish I could have someone to help me…”

Terry, we’re not sure what it is that you need help with, but God already knows, and there are people here to pray for you, that you will get it. Amen.

‘Blessed Be the Lord God Almighty’

Linda requested this a couple of days ago, so here it is–Blessed Be the Lord God Almighty.

And now I have to run off to the hospital. Having received no phone calls since yesterday afternoon, I expect to find all’s well, comparatively speaking. Aunt Joan has had incidents like this before; but for those, her long-time caregiver, Patricia, was always on hand to run interference. Patricia’s in Ghana now, visiting her family, and I don’t have her phone number. She loves Joan and would want to be on hand in a crisis, but I don’t have the heart to call her back from Africa.

Please keep your prayers coming, folks.

And don’t forget, from now on we’ll post your prayer requests, too.
