I have a prayer request from my friend Pat, whose husband, Waymon, has been in the hospital for seven weeks now, following a seizure. He’s stuck there, and they need your prayers.
Father, deliver your servants Pat and Waymon out of trouble, and heal this man. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that he cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. –Isaiah 59:1-2
Father in Heaven, you have raised up wicked and ungodly rulers over us, as chastisement for our sins. We must confess that we have sinned against you, repeatedly. We have been cold and indifferent to you, and ungrateful, and have constantly rebelled against your law. We have willfully listened to false prophets and followed blind guides: and now we are so deep in sin and folly, we can’t possibly escape.
As you did for the Prodigal Son, O God, help us as a nation to come to our senses, and turn away from our sins and our idols: exert your strength on us, O Lord, and turn us to salvation; turn us back to you.
Save us, O God, not for our sakes, but for Jesus’ Christ’s sake, who is our only savior; not for our sakes, but for your own great mercy’s sake, as a Lord who loves to give mercy; not for our sakes, but for your own h0nor and glory’s sake, so that the whole world will see your power and might.
Father, how high and how proud must these wicked and ungodly rulers grow, before you cut them off?
Please, Lord, do not let our nation fall into Hillary Clinton’s hands; but let her rather fall into the hands of justice, long delayed.
Bring us back, O God, bring us back to you. We are lost and cannot find out way; but the Good Shepherd knows the way.
Come, Lord Jesus, come! Amen.
Our sister Erlene has a friend, Jackie, whose little dog has had surgery on both hind legs and needs a lot of serious therapy. I am afraid some won’t understand praying for a dog, or even for the owner of a dog. But many of us do understand.
O Father in heaven, have compassion on your child, Jackie, and bless her by healing the pet that she loves. It’s one of those things that we ourselves never, never would have thought of, had we made the heavens and the earth: providing for love between a human and an animal. But you did think of it, Lord, and made it a great gift to us. So please, Father, grant our prayer for Erlene’s friend Jackie and her little dog. In Jesus’ name, amen.

If you’ve been wondering why God is mad at our country, and so allows it to be lorded over by thieves, liars, and idiots, here’s a news story that may give us a hint.
A recent fashion show in Florida featured “primary school children”–that is, little girls, as you can see by the pictures–modeling bikinis ( https://www.thesun.co.uk/living/1459275/would-you-let-your-kids-do-this-fashion-brand-divides-internet-after-allowing-child-models-to-walk-the-runway-in-bikinis/ ).
Before you conclude, as a normal person might, that the little girls just look cute in their bikinis, and it’s not an effort to present them as sex objects, remember that the brand name of this swimwear is “Hot as Hell.” That sort of gives the game away, don’t you think?
Well, our culture-killers are looking for the next big thing to plug in, once the transgender stuff has run its course, and it would hardly be a surprise if they turned to pedophilia. There are academics–most notably at Temple University, Bruce Rind et al–who have been working for years to make this happen.
This is why I publish hymns and prayer requests, here on this blog. We can’t match the culture-killers in money, power, or influence. But our God is an awesome God, and we have faith that He will hear us.
Prayer Request: O Lord Our God, send thy hand from above, exert your strength on our poor country, and pull us out of this pit of sin and folly into which we have allowed false prophets and blind guides to lead us. In Jesus’ name, amen!
Please join with me in prayer for my friend Martin, whose daughter, a medical student, has been diagnosed as having symptoms “suggestive of MS.” More work will have to be done before her doctors know for sure, so it will be a bad time for her father.
Without violating his privacy, I do feel bound to say that Martin has been a kind of mentor to me: without him, there would probably be no Bell Mountain books. And you wouldn’t be reading this blog, either.
Father in Heaven, be merciful and gracious to your servant, Martin, and heal his daughter. As Our Lord Jesus Christ healed Jairus’ daughter by taking her by the hand and saying, “Maiden, arise,” so heal Martin’s daughter: in Jesus’ name, amen.
Please, everybody, join in prayer for Erlene’s daughter-in-law, Angela, who has been diagnosed with hemochromatosis (overload of iron in the blood).
Father in Heaven, from whom comes all healing, please bless and heal our sister, Angela, who suffers from a difficult disease. Please, Lord, hear our prayer: in Jesus’ name, amen.
Father in Heaven, please deliver our sister, Ina, from dizzy spells–she’s had them before, and now they’re back.
Heal us, O Lord, body and soul. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Folks, my allergies are just flat-out killing me today, so I’d be much obliged if you would ask the Lord to grant me relief from them. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Father in Heaven, our sister Marge’s daughter, Esther, has drifted away from you, all caught up in her career and other personal concerns. Please draw her back to you, and heed her mother’s prayer. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Marge, if it’s any comfort to you, speaking from my own experience, it took me some thirty years to get back on track, once school and college had finished with me. Besides, among young people, it’s common to delight in worldly things and neglect eternal things–especially in our extremely worldly and material culture.
Keep praying, and we will join in your prayers. Many mothers, mine included, were blessed to see their children come back to Christ’s sheepfold, where we belong. You have good grounds for hope.
Father in Heaven, at our sister Allison’s request, please bless those of her friends and family “who have not yet chosen to hear the voice of truth” and know that it’s your voice.
Lord, we all have people who we care about, who have not accepted Jesus Christ–who may indeed have angrily rejected Him. All we can do is pray that you will open their eyes and open their hearts.
