‘Standing on the Promises of Christ My King’

No hymn requests from readers yet this morning, so I’m on my own…

How about this–an instrumental by our dear friends and colleagues, Joshua and Jeremy? Standing on the Promises of Christ My King.

Man, they’re growing up fast. Still hard to get them to sing, though.

‘Sitting at the Feet of Jesus’

How about a nice hymn to start the day? That’ll work, won’t it? Let’s see… how about Sitting at the Feet of Jesus, sung by six kids from Fountainview Academy? Look at the size of the redwood log they’re sitting on!

‘God of Our Fathers’

Would you believe it? We used to sing this in assembly at high school–before The Government decided that we couldn’t. God of Our Fathers–and we’re not told who’s performing it here, but whoever it might be… thank you.

‘Face to Face with Christ, My Savior’

This was the first hymn I found on YouTube today, and I hadn’t heard it before, so herde it is–Face to Face with Christ, My Savior, sung by the Altar of Praise Chorale. Backgrounds: God’s own handiwork, which he pronounced very good.

Bonus Hymn, ‘This Is My Father’s World’

I quoted this hymn in my last post, and now I’ve just got to have it. This was a favorite in Sunday school; but now that I’m older, it was power to move me deeply. Hard to hold back the tears!

This Is My Father’s World–performed by students at Fountainview Academy.

‘Safe in the Arms of Jesus’

No hymn requests yet today, and I’m probably at work earlier than is good for me… So let’s have this: One of the eight or nine thousand hymns written by Fanny Crosby, Safe in the Arms of Jesus. Sung by the Altar of Praise Chorale.

‘Revive Us Again’

We haven’t had this one for a while, have we? Revive Us Again, sung by Nathan and Lyle with auto-harp and guitar (Lord, we could use some reviving around here!). You don’t need a fancy studio to sing a hymn.

‘Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross’

We haven’t heard this hymn in a while, have we? Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross–a dear old classic by Fanny Crosby, sung here by the Smucker Family. Background sets by God the Father.

‘No Friend Like Jesus’

No hymn requests yet this morning, so I went to YouTube and scooped up the first hymn I found there–No Friend Like Jesus, sung by the Antrim Mennonite Choir. Background sets by God the Father… the work of His hands.

By Request, ‘Great Is His Faithfulness’

Erlene, I hope this is the hymn you wanted: there was some confusion on YouTube between Thy and His.

Great Is His Faithfulness, sung by the Collingsworth Family.

It’s going to be a very busy day around here, I guess–but we always start with a hymn.
