By Request, ‘The Church’s One Foundation’

Requested by ElderMike: The Church’s One Foundation, sung by the choir and the congregation at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California.

I’m pretty sure I got the melody wrong… but you don’t know what you’re going to hear until you start the video.

Bonus Hymn: ‘Just As I Am’ (Joshua & Jeremy)

We have a new video here from the Swanson Bros.–Just As I Am. The melody they’ve chosen is not the one most of us are used to, but a lot of hymns are sung to more than one melody–and a lot of melodies serve more than one set of lyrics.

(And if you stick around for a moment, they’ll roll right into Swing Low, Sweet Chariot.

‘Abide With Me’

No hymn requests as yet today, so I went to YouTube to find one. This was the first item showing on the YouTube home page, so obviously I ought to use it–Abide With Me, sung by the Antrim Mennonite Choir. Gorgeous background sets by God the Father.

By Request, ‘How Deep the Father’s Love For Us’

We have a hymn request from SlimJim to start the day–How Deep the Father’s Love For Us, performed by the Sharon Mennonite Bible Institute Singers.

The hymn shop’s open now, so if you have a hymn you’d like to share, just let us know.

‘Shall We Gather at the River’ (Burl Ives)

We haven’t had many hymn requests lately–well, more like we haven’t had any at all–so I’m on my own.

So here’s Burl Ives with Shall We Gather at the River, it’s a good old 19th century hymn, and let’s let it minister to us.

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

I don’t know how many times we sang this hymn in Sunday school. It seemed to be one of everybody’s favorites.

Yield Not to Temptation, a classic hymn, performed here by Nathan and Lyle… deep in the heart of Texas.

‘Holy, Holy, Holy’

No hymn requests as yet today, so I’m on my own. How about this one? Holy, Holy, Holy, sung by the Altar of Praise Men’s Choir. How many times did we sing this in our church. I don’t know; but it really filled the building.

‘He Leadeth Me’

This hymn has been on my mind lately, another old Sunday school favorite–He Leadeth Me, sung here by the Michael Curb Congregation.

This week’s technical problems are almost fixed–so if you have a hymn you’d like to share, let us know.

By Request, ‘Jesus Paid It All’

Requested by SlimJim, Jesus Paid It All, sung by the Altar of Praise Chorale. Background sets by God the Father, Maker of Heaven and Earth.

The hymn shop’s open! If you have one you’d like to share, just let us know and we’ll do the rest.

‘Revive Us Again’

No hymn requests this morning, no comments, no likes… I’m on my own.

Revive Us Again, sung by Nathan and Lyle, with autoharp and guitar–it’s one of my favorites. I sang it to a deer once. I think she liked it.
