Another Experiment in Fascism

Benito Mussolini | Biography, Definition, Facts, Rise ...

Mussolini, thou art mighty yet!

Reminder: “Fascism” is the term for when authoritarian government allies with a few favored Big Business cronies to dominate and enslave the people.

Just the News has reported that government agencies, led by the Dept. of Homeland Security and the State Dept., collaborated with “private” agencies (including the Democrat National Committee [of course], Common Cause, and the NAACP) to censor into silence at least 20 million conservative posts on social media (https://justthenews.com/government/federal-agencies/biden-administration-rewarded-private-entities-got-2020-election).

Let’s state it as simply as possible:

The First Amendment to the Constitution forbids government from abridging free speech.

The government, especially Democrats in government, want very badly to abridge free speech.

To avoid breaking the law themselves, they find or create allies in the private sector who will do their dirty work for them. In this way they silence dissent while keeping themselves clear of actual lawbreaking–although why they should ever be afraid of legal consequences is a mystery to me. (P.S.: The Biden administration has paid out millions of dollars in public moneys to private entities censoring America.)

And so The Regime has found a way to nullify the First Amendment, and have gotten away with it so far, and expects to get away with it again, going into November’s midterm elections. There have been no consequences to our political class; they have acted against the American people with complete impunity.

“Outsourcing censorship”–brilliant! Mussolini would be proud.

The Ingredients of Fascism

Benito Mussolini | Biography, Definition, Facts, Rise, & Death | Britannica

“Fascism” is a word that gets tossed around a lot, these days–but how many know what it really means?

Let’s try to know what we’re talking about. Fascism is a real thing, and here are its basic ingredients.

*A big, strong, highly centralized government. The bigger, the better.

*A small group of business oligarchs, corporate bigwigs, who control a disproportionate share of the unfortunate country’s business.

*A charismatic leader is just about indispensable to any fascist enterprise. Failing that, modern technology may be able to create such a leader. That’d be cool if The Leader didn’t really exist. (Note: In the World War II era, Japan’s fascism got by with a small group of leaders, gathered around Hideki Tojo. There was no Japanese Mussolini.)

*Wide popular support. People forget that fascist governments are usually greeted with enthusiasm by the unsuspecting populace.

*A Great Enemy, greatly feared, from whom The Leader and The Party will protect the people. Try “white supremacists” on for size.

*Now, if you want to refine your fascism into Peronism or Obamaism, simply add a few favored unions into the mix–public employees’ unions, already closely linked to government, are great for this.

Put ’em all together, season with a continuous flood of bad and alarming nooze (fake news will do just fine, if no real crisis is available), and, voila! You’ve got real, historical, 100% pure fascism!

I think the only thing our country’s missing is the charismatic fascist Leader.

Rushdoony: ‘The Theology of Fascism’

Mussolini–the patron saint of 20th century humanism… and, he claimed, “a good catholic.” But then fascism always goes in two directions at once.

World War II annihilated openly-espoused fascism; but since the war, R.J. Rushdoony observed, fascism is “everywhere condemned, but everywhere imitated.”

Command economies don’t work well, in real life. In fact, they don’t work at all. So communist countries, facing ruin, fall back on fascism–as China has done.

In political science terms, fascism is an authoritarian government in cahoots with a few favored corporations steering the economy. Drop in a few favored unions to buddy up with the politicians and the magnates, and you’ve got Peronism. And Obamaism.

In this essay published in 2006, Rushdoony zeroed in on the now widely-practiced model of a “mixed economy.” When you mix your theologies, you get syncretism–the besetting sin of ancient Israel. When you mix capitalism and socialism, you get fascism: “socialism for the hypocrites,” Rushdoony said.

If the people are corrupt at heart, their state will be corrupt. There’s no getting away from it. We can try to be Christians and pagans at the same time, but no man can serve two masters.

You Christofascist, You

We can take it as a given that everyone who isn’t a crawling squid of a liberal is going to be called a fascist, Hitler, hater and biggit, etc.

Now that I’ve finally made the grade as a “christofascist,” I was wondering just what that is. So I looked it up.

It’s anybody who’s not a crawling squid of a liberal and who, besides, affirms that Jesus Christ is, by right, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

The mob in Jerusalem who yelled for the crucifixion of Christ–nowadays, George Soros would have paid them–affirmed that they, for their part, “have no king but Caesar” (John 19:15). This is unfortunately true of liberals today, statists to the core. The New Jerusalem that they seek is only Moscow in the 1930s.

We are told that “christofascists” seek to impose themselves and their beliefs on other religions and cultures. Well, duh, who does most of the imposing, these days? Who goes running to a court every time they want to impose their beliefs on society at large? It ain’t us, Sunshine.

As for fascism–sorry, but as far as I’m concerned, words still have specific meanings; otherwise they’re useless for communicating–it is only authoritarian government in bed with a few favored business leaders. Throw in a few favored labor unions with it, and you’ve got the Obama regime.

As a Christian, I openly affirm the lawful right of Jesus Christ to rule as king over His Father’s whole creation and pray for the day when that becomes reality.

Come, Lord Jesus, come!
