‘A “Pastor” Who Hates Purity’ (2018)

Where do they get these fly-by-night “pastors”? I can’t even imagine what they’re teaching in the seminaries these days.

A ‘Pastor’ Who Hates Purity

This one likes to melt down purity rings. She thinks purity is a bad thing. Someone handed her a certificate that says that she’s a pastor. Whoever did that ought to be whipped around the block.

I shoulda known, all those years ago now, when “Reverend Jill,” the new pastor of the church that I was raised in, warned me to beware of Bibliolatry–the error of taking the Bible seriously. She also thought it was nice when couples committing adultery together found time to go to church. “Welcoming and affirming”

The clever men at Oxford

Know all that there is to be knowed.

But they none of them know one half as much

As intelligent Mr. Toad!

When Mr. Toad brags about his intellectual attainments, we think it’s funny and we laugh, because it’s only Mr. Toad, a fictional character. But it’s not so funny when the real, live clever men at Oxford and other dives of “higher education” do the same.

Biblical Archaeology Magazine this month is advertising a book, Jesus and After, produced by the savants at University of Massachusetts at Amherst. “What lies at the bottom of the highly stratified Biblical texts from the First Century?” one asks.

Answers Stephen W. Durrant from the University of Oregon:

“The author has accomplished something rare in this outstanding book… Freed from such ‘stumbling blocks’ as the doctrines of blood atonement and bodily resurrection, the original Christian teaching shines forth with simplicity and directness.”

“For the preaching of the cross,” observed St. Paul, “is to them that perish foolishness” (I Corinthians 1:18).

So the doctrines of blood atonement and bodily resurrection are stumbling blocks? Stumbling blocks to what–getting your doctorate in “Religion”? Winning the approval of an unbelieving fallen world?

“Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead,” Paul continues, “how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: and if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain… If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable” (I Cor. 15:12-14, 19).

So these sophomoric twaddlers wish to go back to some supposed “original Christian teaching” that does not provide any cleansing from sins because it jettisons the blood atonement, and does not provide any hope of resurrection–what’s left? “Be nice”? “Sharing is caring”? What kind of shabby excuse for Christianity would that be?

Seest thou a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope of a fool than of him (Proverbs 26:12).

This is the kind of plop that gets taught at our seminaries, and this is why we have “clergy for choice” and “feminist clergy” and all the rest of the smorgasbord of crapola served up by left-wing pseudo-Christianity.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

That ought to make it easy to spot the fools.

Assorted Left-Wing Jidrools: ‘Religious Beliefs Must Change!’

I wish I had a nickel for every time some atheist or pagan sagely, and with no sense of his or her own pompous absurdity, advised Christians how to be Christians. This is not unlike the Nooze media advising Republicans who to pick for their presidential candidate–or sharks advising surfers as to water safety.

The latest liberal bigwig to do so is Hillary “Cash” Clinton, who recently declared that “religious beliefs must change” to accommodate abortion ( http://www.inquisitr.com/2044978/hillary-clinton-religious-beliefs-must-change-for-reproductive-healthcare/ ). Women will never be “free” until you can kill your baby anytime, anywhere. Mrs. Clinton did not elaborate on how timeless, changeless portions of Christian faith and morality ought to be made to change. We have not yet reached the point where even a Democrat presidential candidate can openly talk about throwing millions of American citizens into re-education camps.

Before that it was The New York Times telling us that Christianity “must change” to accommodate homosexuals.

And we always have wise fools in our seminaries, known affectionately to liberals as Reputable Bible Scholars, who declare to us that nothing described in the Bible ever happened, Jesus Christ never rose from the dead but was just a Wise Teacher (who must also have been delusional, calling himself the Christ, the Son of God), and real Christianity is doing whatever liberals tell you to do and believing whatever liberals think you should believe. So a Real Christian believes in Global Warming, goes to gay weddings every chance he gets, believes all other religions (including atheism) are just as true as Christianity, and says the Bible is full of wonderful symbolism but otherwise not to be taken seriously for a moment.

You know what’s sad?

The fact that we already have legions of Real Christians who fit that description to a tee.
