They’re protecting us! (Honk if you believe it.)

You might’ve been busy with Christmas and missed this story. Well, every now and then a politician lets a truth slip out and suddenly you get a glimpse of what’s behind the curtain.

New York City’s mayor, Eric Adams, spoke these words a few days ago:

“Big Brother is protecting you.”

Set ’em up in neon letters ten feet high, on top of the highest hill you can find. Then you can try to find out who’s protecting you from Big Brother.

Adams made the remark in response to critics who didn’t like his plans for more surveillance of the public–which he, of course, presents as a solution to the city’s ever-increasing crime rate. Hey, honest, we’ll protect you plebs! Just take away all those silly restraints you’ve placed on our power! Give us the cameras, give us the facial recognition technology! It’ll help us catch the bad guys–

Which the Democrat prosecutor will refuse to prosecute and whom the cops will release without bail an hour or two after the arrest! And meanwhile, how do we know Big Brother isn’t keeping some kind of database on each and every one of us?

Gee whiz… don’t you trust the government?

Not for a New York minute.

New York subway–ride it if you dare.

Dig that New York City crime rate. Too bad you can’t buy stock in that. Up, up, and up!

Today on the radio I heard the heart-warming story of a violent kook pulled in for an unprovoked and extremely bizarre assault on a woman in the subway (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10571207/Man-smeared-feces-womans-face-subway-NYCs-streets.html). In fact, the incident is too disgusting for me to describe here; you’ll have to click the link.

This guy has been arrested and released 44 times. He attacks people. He cursed out the judge at his hearing. They just arrest him, let him go on no bail, and then have to arrest him again for another crime–sometimes less than 24 hours after the last arrest.

This is Democrat government. It’s just as bad in other cities that they run. It used to be just a thing people said, “The Democrats coddle criminals.” It’s turned out to be true.

I have no idea why they do this. They just always do.

And everyone who votes for them has helped them do it.

Are you impressed by the governing activities of The World’s Smartest People? When was the last time you saw them do anything right?

New York City’s festival of misgovernment continued this weekend, with six residents stabbed as they sought to ride the subway (https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/595148-at-least-6-stabbed-in-new-york-subway-system-this-weekend). No one was killed, but all were injured.

So you want to ride the New York City subway? Lotsa luck with that. When they don’t stab you, they like to push you off the platform and onto the tracks.

The stabbing party occurred just days after the mayor and governor announced their “Subway Safety Plan,” which seems to be centered on somehow getting crazy homeless persons to feel better about themselves.

They’ll jail you for using the wrong pronouns; but if you’re a violet criminal or a total out-to-lunch wacko, Democrats just love you.

You Can’t Kill the Rapist?

Why is this man smiling? Busted another law-abiding citizen who dared defend himself, have you, Bill? All in a day’s work for any liberal.

Front-page news in New York City today: a man has been charged with manslaughter for killing an intruder who tried to rape his wife ( https://www.veooz.com/news/GK~v17C.html ).

The attacker broke into the couple’s apartment and attacked the wife, punching her, tearing at her clothes. Her screams brought her husband running to the rescue, prudently grasping a tire iron. This he used to beat the intruder to death.

So now he’s the criminal? This is too much, even for Bill de Blasio’s New York. The bad guy broke in his door and attacked the wife, and the husband who defended her is a criminal?

But then liberal rulers always favor criminals over law-abiding people. Always.

I doubt this man has much to fear from any jury, unless they can somehow collect a jury full of rapists. But as Ezra Levant says, the process is the punishment. By the time this ordeal is over, the husband will have been put through hell.

P.S.–And what is journalism coming to? Dig this quote from one of the news articles on the Internet: “after he beat a man who tried to rape his wife to death with a tire iron.” Another fine product of university journalism courses.
