A Prayer for Leadership

The Pharaohs of This World Are No Match for the Great I AM - TravisAgnew.org

Moses confronts Pharaoh

We need leadership. The Far Left Crazy is running wild, they want to devour us, and they think they’re just this close to setting up a totalitarian global government with themselves in charge. We need to pray.

O Lord our God! Raise up for us godly and courageous leaders–someone like Moses, who stood before Pharaoh and declared to him “Thus saith the LORD: let my people go.” Like Joshua, or Gideon, or David, to oppose these tyrants every step of the way… and defeat them, and bring to nothing all their plans. Fight for us, O God! Not since World War II have so many of the wicked gathered in such numbers to destroy us.

Lord, you have promised that the gates of Hell would not prevail against your Church. We pray to you to put a stop to all their wickedness–in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Home from the Hospital

Please keep praying for us, because Patty had a bad reaction to the anesthetic and, although they sent her home late this afternoon, she feels miserable.

I really hope Saturday sees her better. They say it takes 24 hours to work its way out of one’s system.

Surgery Tomorrow (Pray for Us)

Mr Bean doing surgery - BEAN - YouTube

No, it won’t be Mr. Bean… we hope.

We have to be at the hospital at 8:00 tomorrow morning for Patty’s hernia surgery. We are told she’ll be walking about of there sometime around 2 p.m.

That’s a huge deal better than I expected.

Meanwhile, I hope I can find some opportunity to post a thing or two tomorrow. (There’s always the Archives, by the way.) We are cautiously expecting this caper to turn out well, Lord willing.

Surgery Postponed

Just letting you know that Patty’s hernia surgery, originally scheduled for this Thursday, has been pushed back toward the end of the month. That’s where it gets frustrating! Please continue to pray for us.

‘Bringing In the Sheaves’

No hymn requests received this morning… and we’re sweating Patty’s impending hernia surgery, scheduled for Thursday. Please pray for us.

Meanwhile–Bringing in the Sheaves, sung by Tennessee Ernie Ford and friends. First hymn to cross my mind today: so I use it.

Prayer Request–For Us

Patty will undergo surgery for her hernia next week, she’s really scared, and when I asked her what she wanted for Easter, she said, “Prayers!” So please pray for us, everybody: please pray that by this time next week, all the hard and scary stuff will be over and she’ll be on her way to recovery.  Protect us by thy might, great God our King.

P.S.–I heard from Erlene yesterday, and am happy to say she’s still with us, still recovering but hopefully on the mend. Please keep her in your daily prayers.

Prayer Request: Susan

My editor, Susan, sounded pretty woddly on the phone today and admitted she felt sick. She’d had a hard weekend and this morning isn’t any easier.

Please take a moment to pray for this hard-working woman.

O Lord our God, have mercy on your faithful servant Susan. There are so many of us who need your intervention, Lord! Please hear us when we call upon your name.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Quick Prayer

The world’s on fire, our own health’s not too good–but today we’re going to watch The Chosen and I’m going to post some stuff that hopefully will make you laugh.

O Lord our God! The wicked and the ungodly are running wild on this fallen world, hatching evil plots, trapping the innocent, we see no restraints on them: they break Your law and man’s with equal want of caring.

But how many times, in the Psalms and all throughout the Scriptures, have you assured us that their day is not forever, their power and wealth an illusion, and your judgment over them an inescapable reality?

In our weakness we defy them: our hope is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. “Let judgment pour down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream” (Amos 5:24).

Prayer Request: Erlene

Please, everybody, let’s make some serious prayers for our dear friend and colleague, Erlene Talbott, who is trying to recover from a very bad stroke. I just heard from her today, and it sounds like she needs those prayers.

Dear Lord our God, have compassion on our dear sister, your servant Erlene Talbott, and grant her a swift and sure recovery from her illness. Restore her, Lord, to our fellowship: we miss her! We are all your children, and the sheep of your pasture; and this lamb needs her shepherd. Please, Father, heal her: in Jesus’ name, Amen.

(Heh-heh-heh-heh….!)

So we went to the doctor yesterday and yep, it’s a hernia, all right–surgery required! But not yet. Not so fast there, Patricia. First comes a cascade of bureaucracy. Sign this, sign that, go to this office, go to that office… and sometime down the road they will actually do the surgery.

For the time being, however long that is, Patty can’t lift anything; and she’d better lay off the bungee-jumping and the break-dancing, too.

We’d appreciate your prayers.
