Salvation Army Shifts to ‘Damage Control’

Sorry, guys, but it’s got your logo on it.

When people learned the Salvation Army (say it ain’t so!) had turned hard left and was pushing “woke” doctrine on its personnel, they didn’t like it–not one bit. And so the donations started to dry up–especially with the Army saying white people ought to “lament, repent, and apologize” for being white.

Now they’re trying to wriggle out of it–while at the same time continuing to pursue it (https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2021/11/29/salvation-army-withdraws-controversial-guide-urged-donors-repent-racism/).

So the Army says they have “withdrawn”–what does that actually mean?–its controversial “guide” book, Let’s Talk About Racism. (I have a better idea: let’s not!)

Yeah, well, guys, anybody can say “I’ll be good, I’ll be good!” Just saying so is not good enough. You have to show you mean it.

*Fire “General” Peddle, or whatever his name is. This “anti-racist” fiasco was his baby. He’s got to be chucked out with it.

*Fire “instructors” and consultants who were involved in this. Fire anybody who had anything to do with it.

*Publicly disavow and disown any publications paid for by the Salvation Army in aid of promoting the real and ranting racism that goes by the name of “anti-racism.” It’s just a euphemism for hating white people.

*Publicly sever ALL ties with Black Lives Matter. And get rid of any blooming idiot who can’t see that BLM is evil.

*Have new leaders publicly pledge that NO moneys donated to the Army will ever again be used to promote Critical Race Theory or any doctrine related to it.

It goes against a lifetime’s practice: but until those steps are taken, I’ll have to walk right past the Salvation Army kettle without putting any money into it. And no more monthly pledge, either. If they think I’m a racist, then my money’s racist, too.

Salvation Army Goes… Bad

Resource Cover

Hey, Sunshine! Let’s talk about your racism!

I didn’t want to post this news, and kept putting it off. In a way, it isn’t really “news”–it was first reported back in June, but no one noticed. And it’s been in the works for years, since 2007.

The Salvation Army is going “woke” (https://www.newsweek.com/salvation-armys-donors-withdraw-support-response-racial-wokeness-initiative-1645658). It’s CEO, “General” Brian Peddle, thinks white people should apologize for being white.

[Personal note: If I were to go up to any of my black neighbors and “apologize” for my skin color, which makes me guilty of every bad thing that’s ever been done, they would stare at me as if I were insane.]

A Bible verse springs to mind: [N]either cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you” (Matthew 7:6).

Last year Americans donated $1.8 billion to the Salvation Army; and it was pearls cast before swine. And then the swine attacked us. They took some of that money and used it to organize compulsory “racial equity training” in Critical Race Theory for all its staff and officers. We are not told how much they spent on that.

They also spent donated money to create a “guide” called “Let’s Talk About Racism.” Gee, Starbuck’s did the same stupid thing a few years ago and got laughed off the stage. But the Salvation Army has done it much more quietly.

Now, if the color of my skin makes me automatically guilty, automatically bad, then I guess my money’s bad and guilty, too–why should you want any of it?

Well, you aren’t going to get any. Not from me. My wife and I had a monthly pledge to the Salvation Army. Not any more.

I hate to see the Salvation Army cancel itself as a force for good! They have to repent. They have to clean up their act.

Fire their CEO, let Mr. Peddle go peddle his papers somewhere else. Fire the External Communications Manager, who has the brass to deny they’re doing any CRT at all. Fire anyone and everyone who has had anything to do with turning the Salvation Army into a mob of racist ranters.

Because, folks, we are sick and tired of “woke” and we are waking up to the fact that we have to get rid of it.

Do you want to go down with that ship?

Note to Chick-fil-A: Appeasement Will Not Work

Who’s disappointed in Chick-fil-A for announcing that it won’t contribute any more aid to the Salvation Army and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes? (https://www.christianpost.com/voice/a-christian-appeal-to-chick-fil-a.html)

See, those two Christian charities were–according to “LGBT activists,” and you know how trustworthy they are!–“anti-LGBT” and therefor undeserving. Indeed, the “LGBT activists” praised Chick-fil-A for severing connections with these “haters,” although more, they said–it’s always more–“needs to be done.”

Has any sodomite in need been booted out of a Salvation Army shelter because they found out he was a homosexual? Come on, then–show us one.

But you have to learn the language. In gayspeak, anyone who’s not them, or at least 100% obedient to them, is “anti-LGBT” and has to be smacked down.

Folks at Chick-fil-A are probably tired of dealing with endless nagging and protesting and cursing from “LGBT activists.” So they’re gonna give in, and cut their ties with two major, mainstream, thoroughly respectable Christian charities because they think it’ll get the “LGBT activists” off their backs. They’re tired of the war, and so they’ve chosen shame.

They will get, in Churchill’s phrase, both war and shame.

Let’s embrace the war, and win it. Or do we want “LGBT activists” telling us what to do, the rest of our lives?

Chick-fil-A, millions of Americans would have stood with you, if you’d stood with the Salvation Army and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. You have made a grievous error, and it will cost you. Repent before it’s too late to control the damage.
