By What Authority?

From the Unashamed of Jesus blog: Christ’s works bear witness to who He is.  –LD

and began saying
to Him, “By what authority are You doing these things, or who gave You
this authority to do these things?” Mark 11:28

Who does Jesus think he is? This is what the Pharisees were
saying to him. Who do you think you are coming in here and questioning our
religious traditions! Who do you think you are clearing out all the money and
merchants from the Temple! Who do you think you are claiming you are The Son of

The Pharisees were very angry with Jesus, because he turned
there world upside down, he challenged the purity of their hearts and integrity
of serving God. Jesus was changing the way the entire world was going to
worship God!

We challenge Jesus authority also, Jesus says to deny
yourself and carry your cross. Who do you think you are to tell me to deny
myself! Jesus tells…

Consuming Fire

Fire brings light–and cleanses. We are not alone.   LD

Unashamed of Jesus

And the light of Israel will become a fire and his Holy One a flame, And it will burn and devour his thorns and his briars in a single day. Isaiah 10:17

Its no mistake that God would reference his Holy One a flame and a fire. The coming of the Holy Spirit which was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost is referenced as a flame and fire throughout the Bible. So why fire? Because fire is used to transform , just as heat is used to forge things or transform a rock into a diamond. It is also used to devour and eliminate such as dead wood or brush

And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them. Acts 2:3

When the Holy Spirit came to Jerusalem it was described as “tongues of fire” The Holy Spirit that was…

Follow God Not Man

Unashamed of Jesus

But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men. Acts 5:29

Peter and the apostles were given strict orders by the religious leaders, stop talking about Jesus or you will be imprisoned or even put to death. For most this would have been an easy decision, keep quiet and save yourself. However the apostles couldn’t keep quiet because they were obeying God and not man

This may seem like a story for the distant past,  but as Christians today we often face the same circumstances. Think about if you just started talking about Jesus on a crowded public street, what reaction would you receive? In todays politically correct world, talking about Jesus is forbidden. How dare we offend the Atheists and the Muslim, and the Hindu, and the Buddhist

Most workplaces and schools today don’t welcome the gospel of Jesus Christ either. If you started preaching…
